Depending on when we play them we will most likely be playing against Vick... When have the Eagles not relied on a back-up QB for at least 3 games in a season. Kolb doesn't have the same mobility as McNabb either.

With all the trades the Eagles have done, Im thinking they are chalking this year up to a learning experience for Kolb and rebuilding the team for next year and the future. They wont fall as far this way since they still have some talent and will be a much quicker rebuild than any of the bottom feeder teams. Like our Niners in the Rattay/early Smith years. It took us 5 years to have enough talent to go .500, it will probably take the Eagles 2 years.

Why is everyone saying we will score 30+? the only time we went over 30 last season was against the Rams. Sure, we'll probably win, but we wont score more than 30, thats for sure. What, an offseason w/the same OC is an automatic guarantee that we will be so much better offensively next season? Our D is our bread & butter. Our Offense is never going to be above average until we toss Smith and get a real QB! UH-OH, another Smith hater! Yeah, I do hate Smith's game, it SUCKS! without Gore,Crabs,andDavis carrying the offense, we wouldnt even score......at all. Sure Smith will improve just enough to be a slightly below average QB, but he is and always will be a waste of F'INg time! Get rid of the bum! Im tired of seeing him in a 49ers uniform!

Jesus man, what an ignorant post. Without those players you mentioned no QB would have had any success here. Who was getting those said players the ball anyways? Yeah hes getting them the ball.......barely.And just tah let cha know...handoffs dont count. We can see that Smith's throw power has significantly dropped since his multiple shoulder surgeries. If Crabtree & Davis werent so talented, you could throw half of Alex's completions out the window. More than half of his throws were late and underthrown , a quarter were just off the mark and the rest were where they SHOULD be. Dont praise him for doing what weve already paid him millions of dollars to do, and thats not to be an average QB.

Are we talking about the same Alex Smith??? the one who constantly throws his passes high because of a stiff front leg.

side note, ever wonder why smith throws better on the run? It's because he can't lock his front leg causing the ball to sail.

Overall I think he's going to have an improved season, reports from the OTA's suggest that he might become that field general that we've been waiting for. I guess it was good to keep the same O for a consecutive season.

Nobody is praising anyone, I just pointed out that your post is hyperbole. You want to give the receivers credit, that's fine, I just have to point out the fact you ignored...who was getting them the ball. I get it, you are butt hurt because he is our QB, but all the whining and complaining in the world isn't going to change it.

I think you failed to observe my point. The combined talents of Gore,Davis and Crabtree are pulling not only their own weight but also the but also the ton of bricks that are Alex Smith's shortcomings.

Oh I got it, but did it ever occur to you that without Smith, VD and Crabs would of never gotten a pass over 10 yards since Hill couldn't drive the ball deep. Or that defenses never respected Hill's arm so Gore constantly faced nine in the box. Hate all you want on Smith but just keep in mind he is our best option, and judging by how he played last season he's not all that bad of one. Whether you want to admit that is a different story. Is he ever gonna be Manning/Brady/Brees... no, but I would still pick him over half the QB's in the league.
