Let's see...who was it that said "don't tell me, show me"...? I'll believe it when I see them dominate the line of scrimmage game after game.

Dominating the opposition is so not going to happen. It is a myth. Defenses are all manned by gigantic, fast athletic guys who get paid only if they succeed.

New line coaches are going to help, but remember that the more the line succeeds, the more tempted Raye will be to go with the smashmouth. He may negate any gains simply with the playcalling.

Recall that the same miserable line did much better in the spread and under Martz's system simply because they weren't called on to do the impossible.

I agree this group has been a big disappointment for some years now and has never been properly addressed ------ hopefully the coaching change and the influx of some new talent will give us some positive improvements. Just give me fewer sacks/more time for the QB , and some run blocking like we had in 2006.

I think Ray Brown is gonna be a great influence on these guys.

I'm all for the attitude and I do believe that coaching can make a difference but the talent on the Oline is lacking on this team.

We need at least a quality starting RT and I'd say a guard as well.

Really besides Staley, and maybe Rachal, the Oline players we have on this team are just quality backups for the good teams in this leauge!

To me, its alot more fun than baseball (the "hot stove league"), but you're absolutely right, its best to temper one's enthusiasm. The Niners have disappointed before after a promising off season, although it was under a different coaching regime.

Nevertheless, its good to see that one of the biggest problems for the Niners last season, the OL mess, is being focused on and addressed. Whether it will mean a better OL next season, or translates to more wins, who knows. But at least its being addressed.

Well, include Heitmann and I agree. Though Rachal still has a lot to prove. And I am not wild about the backups either. Lots to do here

I`m attributing this to Ray Brown. He isnt going to let these guys play soft! Not on his watch.

I'd like to see more flags for unsportsmanlike and roughness out of these guys. I remember when Steve Young got decked going into the endzone for a TD against the Bears in the 94 playoffs, it was like a GD freeforall with Niners going after Bears.
