bet they just promote someone to GM.

Yep. What a f**king joke. Also bet that Singletary takes more of a role in talent evaluation, when he hasn't even proven to be a viable head coach in the NFL yet.

Stop always complaining, your starting to sound like me.

I wanna be like you, you're my hero!

See what you gotta do is everyday come to the zone and just pick 3 random posts and just complain about them. Go against the majority opinion.

The complaints a day keeps the doctor away.

Director of player personnel Trent Baalke and director of pro personnel Tom Gamble, will take over these duties. Both which are highly respected around the league.

Plus i doubt a lot of you know here, but Baalke was pursued heavily by STL, and CLE and SEA these last 2 years. Their not rookies they know what the fk they are doing.

Sing is the one i'd be worried about but i'm not. He's a football player & i think he's knows & see's a football player when he see's one.

We will be perfectly fine. Ask your self these ?'s:

In the last 5 years with Scotty here what extraordinary draft picks has he brought in? (besides Willis?) Hell his first 3 years as head of scouting & evaluating he wet the bed. It's a fact. One webzoner here loves the fact that Scotty has the most people still on his team that he has drafted which is more than any other GM? DUDE we haven't made the playoffs since when? how many pro bowlers are we producing besides a damn punter?

We can do better at finding someone to scout & most importantly evaluate talent. Maybe his brother needs to move on to.

A. Baalke sucked when he was w/ the skins and jets.

B. Gore, staley, willis, crabtree, vernon davis are all exceptional picks. Not to mention the dozens of other starters he's draft. You seem to forget our team was expansion esque when Scot got here 5yrs ago.

C. Actually we had 5 probowlers this yr.... Justin smith, willis, gore, lee, davis. That's a lot.

Your post sucks.

You got no swagger buddy.

-Gore, Staley, Willis, Crabtree(to early to tell), Davis are great picks. He didn't pick Gore (his brother gets all the credit on that one. He gives his bro credit for pointing out gore). That's it!

-Dozens of starters? More than half of our starters wouldn't start on a playoff caliber team. Sopoaga wouldn't start. Would Spikes start? Doubt it. Manny Lawson would start on some teams but would most likely come off the bench on the majority of teams. Parys? Jury's still out. How bout our secondary? Goldson & Clements are probably the only starters. Spencer is a nickel on most teams. Our SS is freakin hurt all the damn time & our nickels are or were Bly & Brown?
Hell nobody wanted Mark Roman last year lol & he came back crawling. Reggie Smith? Hell no

Most importantly our QB wouldn't be starting on another team would he? Doubt it. Not TB or Det or Cle. s**t Chilo, Baas, & our RT wouldn't start on any team, maybe the Browns or Lions.

-was crucial in scouting our #1 pick in 05 when he came. That worked out great.

-Look i know it seems like a lot of on here like & are & sound like arm chair GM's, but seriously when it comes down to facts, stats, he's just not all that hyped up to be. Were humans we make mistakes, he's made some bad decisions. Way Over paid on some players. McCloughan had the final say on the 49ers’ last two drafts, and has wet the bed for the most part.

-5 years. Understood but other teams seem to be able to get out of their s**tholes. Their management making better decisions. ARI (losing record 99-06), Jets(from 87-97 i believe they made the playoffs twice, but as of late have a nice Nucleus going. Mangini yrs was up & down but made the playoffs.) Saints.

-5 years is ample time to get it going. hell it's a business to, and in any business a good fkn manager get's his s**t going in five years. No matter the financial situation, this game is a business. He has done a decent job in the salary deptartment but from what's been said it seems like the number crunching guru Paraag Marathe (who i could care less for i believe most educated people could do that job.)

-f**k pro bowlers let's get some playoff appearances. He hasn't given us the talent to get into the playoffs. So all of your starters that he's produced. How well has that really worked for us?

Go get some swagga son!

You make it seem so easy to just GLANCE OVER Pwilly, vernon, staley, gore, goldson 4th rounder! Straight sick wit it in his 1st full season!, Haralson, 5th rounder! and hes part of what led us to the 2nd most sacks in the nfc. Morgan, up and coming #2wr. Delaine Walker, would start on 60% of nfl teams...

You also fail to mention the free agent acquisitions that he's brought in. Nate, starter. Mike lewis, great for what we need (only really hurt this yr and didnt miss much). Justin Smith, probowler. Spikes, i dont see any other ted backers with 70+ tackles and 4 sacks. Brooks, looks baller to me. Brayo, franchise son.

Boom. Get some swagg-ER for yourself, i gots enough, son.

I think McCloughan has done a good job improving the roster over the years, but his absence isn't exaclty going to create a huge experience vacuum . . . we'll be fine on draft day.

dude Jed/ Al Davis going to pick !
Just b/c the replacements are well respected doesn't mean they know what they are doing. Time will tell. This is just more about how the front office and ownership is a complete mess, and not a love fest with Scotty. .

Not another team in the league can match the brilliance of the 49ers.

he left for personal reasons. haters gonna hate.

personal reasons i truly believe are part of it but also there is something going on between management & him. Even if it looks like he will be getting a divorce that's not enough to step down as GM. think about it. Look at the history of the sports world & all the s**t that managers go through especially messy divorces. Quiting/stepping down doesn't make sense. There's more to it & i truly believe there is some football biz that he wet the bed on, and Jed is seriously close to Eddie D & Eddie D always wanted instant success, that could be rubbing off on Jed.

Now you are just speculating on the relationship between ownership and McCloughan. They are on record saying they like him and they like the things he is doing with the roster.

However, it is very possible that he cannot just manage his personal problems and job. Many struggle to find balance between work and leisure, and that could very easily be his problem.

Good post. I was not aware of Baalke's experience nor the fact others coveted his services.

I share your optimism about Singletary, but I can't deny I'm concerned about his comparative lack of front-office, scouting, and salary knowledge. Singletary shows a lot of moxxy and determination, and the players seem to respond well to him, which I hope translates into good drafting and wise spending on FAs after the draft.

I believe he had Sing take a look again at Willis. I believe at first Sing was not impressed with Willis.
