I thought Paymah was playing well for the Niners in preseason 2009 before signing with Min. I think overall he is an upgrade on Hudson. Paymah is a special teams player that can play press coverage when needed as third or forth cornerback.
Paymah ran a 4.36, 40 yard dash at the combine in 2005. He has speed and is playing 10lbs less at 195lbs than he was listed at the combine at 205lbs
