He's 31 and recovering from micro-fracture surgery on his right MCL. Sounds like McClaughan's kind of guy. If he can return to pre-injury form maybe he can be an upgrade to Baas, but I'm not too excited.

CAREER: Model of consistency for the Texans…true athleticism has allowed Pitts to move between guard and tackle during his career, without missing a beat…became the only player to start the first 100 games as a Texan in 2008…started the last five seasons primarily at left guard after beginning his career as the team's left tackle from 2002-03…last played at left tackle in 2005…is the only player to start the first 114 games in franchise history…played the most consecutive snaps for the Texans at 3,884 from 2002-06…missed a total of seven plays during his first seven seasons…made his 100th consecutive start in 2008 vs. Indianapolis (10/5/08)…is the only Texan to start every season-opener in team history…elected as the Texans' NFLPA player representative in 2008.

after the Jonas Jennings disaster, and then Marvel Smith last year, plus having 2 top 40 pick Guards on the roster that are currently liabilities, im surprised the 49ers arent gunshy about getting Guards at all...

Did they say Chester Pitts or is this deja vu from last year. Why do we insist on going after the old men coming off major surgery?
