So whats the bottomline here, the Yorks and the GM's they hire are behind some of their own fans in this understanding?

How could they say the Niners did not understand pitfalls like Alex coming from a simple college system.....when those same concerns were well documented in Jan-March of 2005 in Draft Forum.

What a stupid and pointless article.

Many fans are smarter then the niner decision makers.

Or at least it's easy to sound smarter when you don't have to live or die (so to say) by your decisions...

If that was the case then York and McClueless would all be gone by now.

Sure, York SR... But you cant fire the bosses wife (or, um husband...). York Jr has done some good things IMO. # 1 was calling and taking advice from Eddie.

Now Scotty Mac hasn't been too bad IMO. There are better out there; but, there are also much worse. He falls into the same boat as Alex here. How can you draft for 5 different O coords in 5 years and expect to be successful on O.

What I don't get are the folks on here that will give Alex a break because of this but not Scott...

please, I don't know about you but I know for a fact that what happens on Sunday affects me much more than it affects John York(still giving Jed the benefit of the doubt)

And Nolan is now resuming his career elswhere while I am still stuck with this loser on my team.

What was your point again?

But yet John, Jed, and Scotty Mac make Money on Sundays and you still pay $$$ to watch our Niners....
Quote:
Former Arizona and Denver quarterback Jake Plummer(notes) can be found hanging out in the Phoenix area today. While Plummer looks fit, he doesn’t look like a guy who used to play football. He has dropped about 20 pounds of muscle mass and is sporting a thick, long and untamed beard.

As I read the article, it tells me that having the same OC and a good surrrounding cast is critical to the development of a young QB.

Is that an excuse for Alex? Damn right, and it is a valid one. Anyone trivializing it is either fooling with us or just doesn't understand the complexity and difficulty of playing the position in the NFL.

Most of this "Smith Info" has already been said and more, but fair is fair and Smith wasnt given an equal oppertunity when it came to becoming an NFL starter despite his college years.
Now moving onto my idea... or even a quetion. I find it real funny that this idea hasnt been posted, or maybe I missed it from the many threads out there, but here we go. I personaily think that one or more of these past offensive coaches was just buying time. I dont think its to far fetched to think that just one of these past coaches knew that his card was going to be drawn and he was using S.F. as an Holiday Inn with no real attempted to making S.F. his address.
Im not saying that any past coach broke any rules but just because someone didnt brake any rules doesnt mean any intent was right. Consider, Is it posible that S.F. picked up a coach who was one year away from signing a huge contract somewhere else, Yes, and who wouldnt take that job. Is it posible for this situation to happen again, yes, but its funny how it happened to S.F. in almost back to back years? I just dont see any Franchise bring in any coach with a good resume with out the assumption they where staying for the long haul. I think these one years tenders can be a smoke screen and leaving a team worst off then they where.

You know new guy I actually wrote that a while ago. That no one really talks about it, but many coaches use SF as a spring board for a better job. I mean goin from McCarthy on down the line. Thats probably why they are keeping 90% of the same personnel. Something that's vital for any team to be successful. And if anyone doesnt think so, just ask any Pro Bowl/HOF QB.
