I know, most have Clements at #2 and Brown at #4. But I see Brown as a real up and comer.. great agility and speed.. he is only improving, that's why he took Nate's starting job last season.

If Clements will restructure, and if Harris can still play, I say keep'em all. But hey, if Joe Haden falls to us in the draft, we should take him and let the chips fall where they may.
I agree with this and will add.. IF we keep roman, but don't give walt a chance.........

Could walt play safety at all for us?

Spencer's #1, Clements #2. After that, it's a crapshoot. Don't forget when Nate went down last season, neither Bly nor Terrel Brown were that good. Each had some moments, but neither distinguished themselves. Don't count Harris out...if healthy, he's the #3 CB. However, Singletary would be smart to grab the best CB on the board with the #16/17 pick...that is, unless Haden somehow falls...it's possible, look at recent drafts...1st CB has come off the board #13, 14 even 15. If he's on the board at #13, Coach has to take him. He can still get his OT with the 2nd 1st rounder.

Compared to the Colts and Saints corners, we're really not in bad shape there.
Spencer
Clements
Bly
Harris
Brown
Hudson

dont drop Harris to the bottom of the list just because he sat out a season. Brown didnt play well enough to be locked in ahead of Harris.
Spencer and then Nate. After that it gets a little murky........
Nate and Walt were hurt and were the teams starting CB's the year before so hopefully them coming back will make the difference. But they really need to add some speed to the position. Bly was ok and Brown needs a lot of work in his technique and tackling. They were ranked pretty low and a lot of that is b/c they never seem to hold up on 3rd downs and getting the other team off the field. I think the unit is average.

lol we have great CB's??? GREAT?
obviously the folks here putting spencer ahead of Nate forgot about the Green Bay Game! The Lions Game (had to many troubles against a crap team), The Titans game!! The Houston Game & FOCK the damn Eagles game!!!

He's a good #2 CB. Nate yes has his issues, but Nate is by far the best tackling CB we have & one of the best tackling CB's in the ;league. Nate will get his act together. Yes Spence had a good game against Fitz this yr, btu Hell ever since Nate got here he owns Fitz!

Our CB's are mediocre at best. Their not great in any which way. Great is the Jets, Ravens, Packers, Cowboys, Vikes (for the most part), Pit (for the most part), SD DB's. We do not match up with those teams as far as talent at those positions.

i think clements can still do a very good job against any #2 and most #1's. Bly did very well when given the chance. He got a few really impressive int's including the best one of the season which was not a finalist (the diving one against the lions was sick).

I think we should keep all 5 but if we let go of Harris, it would be no big deal b/c of the injury and his age.....but i like him as depth.

IMO the list is as follows for best pure cover corner:

1. Spencer
2. Harris (If fully healed)
3. Spencer
4. Bly
5. Brown

People shouldn't forget where the COACHES placed Clements on this list.... he LOST his starting job after getting repeatedly torched. Roddy White all but packed his lunch and sent him off to school! Clements has not been the stud #1 shut down corner some people here think he is. As a free safety however he could solidify the secondary.

One other thing to think about.... Bly and Harris are both FA's this offseason. Bly wants to start and Harris' age and injury make him questionable to return. Combine that with Clements poor play and big cap number means our depth at CB is of concern.

IMO, we need to take a serious look at a CB with one of our first round picks and certainly no later than 3rd round if the value isn't there in 1 & 2.

In terms of "grades"..... Spencer is probably a B to B+ and Brown a C+ to B-. Clements....... IMO grades out as a D for his poor play and big cap number.

I think this group of CB's are underrated and we shouldn't be looking to draft any early on. We need to bring Bly back.

I do like Clements over Bly, but fully concur about bringing Bly back. He really stepped it up as the season ended. Love that pass breakup, laying out for the fans on Monday night. That was him wasn't it?

If Haden dropped to us, would you want him Krizay or would you let him slide for someone else?

It was a classic move by the coaches to smack some sense into him. for the most part since he's been here he's shut down the oponents #1 wr's, just look at what he's done against fitzgerald. he under acheived big time & in result he found himself on the bench, but was still returning punts & was the nickel cb in that indy game. he will take a pay cut & that will wake him up. plus i've been hearing how hard he's been working with walt harris which i'm surprised that none of the niner beat writers has mentioned that. he will come back.
but for the $ we pay him he needs to perfomr better.
everyone forgets when spence finally got paid he went into the witness protection program only to come bacl last yr somewhat better

I personally feel Haden is one of the most overrated players in this draft.
