You know the funny thing about that helmet pad thing is I have never seen another player ever wear it again. With all these concussions you would think that somebody else would have worn it. Maybe the NFL said no.

That is what I am talkin' 'bout!!! He is picking the pieces to build the foundation of future Super Bowls to come.

This off season is one of the most exciting in some time at least since 2005 when Nolan was brought in to save the franchise. At that time, mostly everyone was elated to start fresh. Didn't last long due to his ego and stubbornness.

Now, Singletary can continue that foundation with more detail and fervor. It just seems as though Singletary is learning from the "Once bitten Twice Shy" motto.

Don't make the same mistakes again.

I believe it was Derrick Deese who had the long streak without allowing a sack...but yeah that picture is of Steve Wallace..

Not to toot my own horn but I have been asking that same question ever since the middle of the season.

I find it hard to believe that the current talent of the OL is THAT bad. They started poorly and got no better as the season went along. To me, that says, "poor coaching." We all know Snyder was an emergency at RT but the rest of the line play never was right.

So much of line play is about technique, not just one technique or style, but the blending of those. This past year the 49ers OL seemed to have very limited options. No apparent attempts were made to confuse the DL. It was just hat-on-hat all the time, and if one guy was beaten, the entire deal failed.

McKittrick - Solari - Brown = System Restore.

When things are no longer working properly, go back to when they last worked well.

Very good hire, well done Singletary.

Ray was an 8th round pick # 201 overall. Spent his first 6 seasons trying to play tackle but was moved to G by Jim Hanifan. From the mid point of 1992 season with Washington he only missed 5 games thru 2004. Played both LG and RG then RT in 04 for the Skins. He should be able to whip these boys on our line into shape.

i'm not sold yet
great player of course as we immediately improved our OLine when he came as a player but coaching is different : give you my opinion when i see that OLine play in 2010
but hey at least there's some movement where's there's need to be so it's a right now

Bad move as an assistant...we need him active and in a Niner jersey!

Anyway, sounds like another good job to improve the coaching staff even further. No more excuses for OL coaching, now it's up to our players to perform!
