Hope we can get a guard to help improve that average for the 49ers.

That's because our bread and butter play was the inside run with Baas pulling to the right side. lets not forget we ran less with Smith in.

The chart shows the NFL's five-worst teams in yards per attempt when running left in 2009. Seattle missed injured left tackle Walter Jones.
Team Yards/carry running left
Seahawks 3.1
Chargers 3.2
Texans 3.7
Colts 3.8
49ers 3.9

To me, this is evidence of losing Staley and Baas struggling again.
Ummm pardon me but where does Frank line up?
That's right on Alex's right.
Where does he run when he runs a draw? On the RIGHT.
So how in the hell does that have anything to do with Staley and Baas other than the initial push?
Now I'm not saying they played a part in this comedy of errors but you're basically putting it all on them. I believe that Rachal should be where Baas is lining up, but the blitzers were submarining Heitman and the Right side of the Line alot this season. Which is one reason why Snyder wasn't playing well this year. Not that he's been that great to begin with.

Numbers dont lie homie. This tells us that no matter how many attempts were included in this calculation when the 49ers ran left they averaged 3.9 yards. Think about it that is not a horrible number honestly almost 4 yards. I'm curious what the top averages were in Sando's research.

Staley's run blocking is below average. The line as a whole needs to step it up.
