simms had some prow bowl days with the raiders so your not crazy. he's getting up there in age. i think we should & need to retain him. we most def need a new tackle & a guard.

Call me crazy, but he really played well when Staley was out I thought.
I think Staley would work better at RT. He's an average LT at best.

Hopefully we get some help at RT this offseason. If not, it's definitely something to consider. I would expect that Sims would slide back over to RT before we moved Staley though.
It would've been nice to have Pashos healthy, so we knew what we had with him. Sims could be looking at some decent money this offseason. If he feels bold, he should wait until a team loses their LT and gets desperate, then sign an inflated contract. It seems to happen every preseason.
He's probably been the biggest surprise this season. He's right there with Brooks, IMO.

The only 1 issue I have with Simms at RT, is that we have seen him there, and he struggled. He was the whipping boy of the WZ last season due to his play at RT. I'm thinkin that Simms is a natural LT and that of the 2, Staley has the ability to transition to RT while Simms has proven he does not.

I agree, but I think the team would be more sensative towards moving Staley, since he's been budded our franchise LT. Also, Sims might fair better at RT now that he's got some significant playing time under him belt.
Most likely though, Sims just naturally doesn't play well on the right side.

Our OT's next year better be Staley and a clear upgrade who's not currently on the roster . . . otherwise McCloughan is dead to me.

Our tackles are fine, move staley to RT and keep simms at LT We need a versatile stud Guard, and lets not forget We ranked 26th against the pass! We need to focus on the D!

Our Oline is not fine. It needs some work. If any part of this team is fine, it's the defense.
Our offense was 29th in the league. We didn't lose because we couldn't stop anyone. We generally lost because we couldn't move the ball consistantly.

At the time Staley was hurt at Indy his stats were right at the top of the league with Clady, Jake Long & Joe Thomas. He'll be solid on the left side for many years.

I would rather draft the best available LT or RT and go that route. I too like the idea of moving Staley to RT and Simms would be a good backup at both positions.

I didnt say our Oline is fine I said our tackels are fine. We could't move the ball consistantly because Jimmy R. had to adjusted this year to his personel. the key positions are filled with solid playmakers its just execution now.

Sims has one "m", not two.

I won't call you crazy cause Sims probably was the best O-lineman in there when Staley was out. Only once did I see him give up a sack, and that was yesterday when Long jump the snap and blew past Sims. Other than that hes been solid.
