This was a quality win, over a better than average opponent, in a must-win game. All good things for our team. The consistency will come with time.

The must win game was Seattle where Sing and his crew failed miserably. Last night's game was, indeed, an enjoyable fluke. Something still stinks about this organization. We just sprayed some Febreze last night. We haven't actually cleaned the soiled carpets. Let's not fool ourselves.

This is, after all, a football franchise, not your spouse, kids, grandchildren or Tiger Woods' lovers. If you truly believe the team has turned a corner, make that the focus of your discussion. Challenge my argument.

I believe the results we saw yesterday were way out of whack with reality. Thus, the original argument.

Problem with this post is....it fails horribly when you examine the facts:

-We SWEPT the Cards this year. By definition, a "fluke" can only happen once.

During that span he's averaged 279 yds passing per game, but less than one passing TD (he's thrown only 11 TD's total against us)....and eight interceptions (in case you were wondering).

Fitz averages 78 yards and 1 TD per game against us. Not bad, however this year he had a combined 8 catches for 93 yards, and one TD. Boldin's numbers aren't even worth mentioning.

None of this is to say that we're suddenly world beaters after last night but let's be honest here. The Cards are the least of our worries and it's been that way for some time. Check our all time record against them any time you need a reminder.

You make too much sense. I have no confidence that the oline is improved. The Cardinals were breaking through the middle at will.

The fluke is not beating the Cards. I thought the team would beat the Cardinals. It is the way it happened. Seven turnovers, the running game looking stellar, the CB's blanketing receivers, the pass rush causing turnovers, and having a ton of sacks. A game plan that seemed to outwit the opposition. The team that was on the field last night was not the 49ers, and the team we played was not the Cardinals.

Some extraterrestrials sabotaged the game last night. It was the perfect storm. And, hence, a fluke.
