Completely agree. With an offseason together & a good draft this team will be much better.

I haven't expected much from this team for the past decade or so. That being said, next season, I expect playoffs. no doubt!

We've all been saying this for 4 seasons now.
We're the "Next Year" Niners.

The thought of Alex Smith with a full training camp, under "spread focus" + re-tooled o-line brings great promise to our 2010 playoff chances. -We're a legit RT, LG, pass-rusher, and a consistent SS away from being an established Superbowl Contender in 2011.
We have an easy shot at obtaining all of these items (too), pick up a RT and pass-rusher in the first round, obtain Atogwe (which will be easy since he'll be undergoing shoulder surgery soon), and use the remaining rounds of the draft/free-agency for special teams/depth holes.
Anything could happen this off-season, even with the CBA extension on free-agency, we have a lot of ammo to wheel and deal/clean house. -Singletary knows what he has now out of Nolan's sloppy seconds, so now it's time to re-tool certain areas.

Smith is playing much better than I thought he could. Maybe he will be ok. On the other hand, I can't forget the last two passes he threw. All he needed was three yards to get to OT. Instead, he threw wild to Hill and into double coverage to Crabtree(?).
I don't want to be too negative, He was played pretty good the last two games.
