If only we had beaten Seattle...

That was a Nolan type loss. Damn you Singletary. Enough with the words and speeches, it's time for action.

He never was the right guy. Just a Pep Rally motivator. And 3 more wasted years by the time we get rid of him and start over.

Three long years of excuse making.

Have you looked at the schedules? I suppose we could win out, but the Cardswon't lose out.

There is always next year

I don't see why they didn't ask you. I mean you know way more about football and the x's and o's then a guy who played 10+ years in the league.

I guess in your first coaching job you would be able to turn around a losing team into a winning team 1 year after inheriting it. Any madden player knows it only takes 1 offseason to turnaround the team despite the fact that the current team is made up of the same players it had last year except for Crabtree.

Singletary has made mistakes but I guess you never had made any mistakes in your first job right? The players like him and have not given up on him like they did with Nolan. I'm sure every player in the locker room would love to go through another coaching change. I'm sure they will be willing to stick around SF if we made another coaching change too.

We got to much change this year to really be a contender. Next year is when we'll make our move.

Because it's still "Mathematically" possible.

It's mathmatically possible that I may have more money than Tiger Woods someday but I really doubt it.

You may, but if you compared yourself to his wife that may be another story...

This is how we can still win the wild card.

1. Win out
2. Dallas needs to lose 2 games (@NO, @Wash, Philly)
3. Giaints need to lose 1 game (@Wash, Car, @Minn)
4. This does not need to happen as long as another team finishes 9-7 and its a 3-way tie at 9-7 but Atlanta lose 1 game (@Jets, Buff, @TB)

We would hold the tiebreaker vs any of those teams because we lost 3 games to the AFC so we would have a better NFC record. Atlanta would hold the head to head tiebreaker but if its a 3-way tie it would go to NFC record.

Its a long shot but still not impossible. I can see Dallas losing 2 games and the Giants losing 1 of those games. The hard part is us winning out.

nice try , not going to happen do you see us beating Phily if we get by Arizona !
the other things that need to happen seem very probably. Us winning out, not so much.

Hard to see u finish 9-7, but I have hope. Then again McNabb and Warner could set our pass defense on fire, and just like that we are out.

Nice post by the way, thanks for taking the time to figure this all out.
Given the schedule I see the Wild Card shaping like this:

PHI--11-5 (Host Wild Card game)
SF--L
Den--W
@Dal--W

AZ with 10-6: (Host Wild Card game)
@Det--W
StL--W
GB--L

GB with 12-4 (Minny plays Car and Chi...they finish with 13 wins at least)
@Pit--W
Sea--W
@AZ--W

49ers with 9-7 (of course we have to win out)
@Phi--W
Det--W
StL--W

Dal with 9-7
@NO--L
@Was--W
Phi--L

NYG with 9-7
@Was--W
Car--W
@Min--L

Atl with 8-8
@NYJ--L
Buf--W
@TB--W

Therefore, it is between the 49ers, Cowboys, and Giants.

49ers
Conf record=8-4

Cowboys
Conf record=7-5

Giants
Conf record=7-5

Man, that last week of the season could be a doozy!!!!!!

I didn't want to start a thread on it....but desperate times call for desperate measures... if we REALLY want to make the playoffs.... we are going to need to send Patrick Willis on a blitz every down and try to destroy Warner....not a cheap shot or anything.... but if Willis gets that one good hit on Warner ala Hasselback....our season might still be saved.....

both Detroit and the Rams might be more motivated knowing the Cards are vulnerable..

and then we are going to have to do our Jobs.....next week we will have Cowboy and Big Blue Nation cheering us on.....
