Oakland- Niner. I agree wit u 100.000 % . Also Sing ass needs to go ill be the first to call for his Head. he is no more than a game Manager that's all he does period he's only ass good as his coordinators. We need a real f**king HeadCoach I'm talking X& O'S NOT THIS LAME MANAGER WE got.

its not an umbrella defense it was the dallas flex there is a major difference, learn what you are talking about.

Billick even said that watching the 49ers practice and we basically just practice running the ball. We spent most of TC practicing running the ball and it is clearly not working. Week 11 of the season and Singletary has yet to figure it out!

We 100% committed to something that does not fit our personnel's obvious strength's.

Anybody find it ironic that this is exactly what caused us to lose under nowin and ultimately got him fired?

Singletary may handle the players differently, but his football philosophy doesn't seem any different. Keep it close and play not to lose.

I don't think the season's over just yet. We got to take this one week at a time. Beat Jacksonville, beat Seattle, beat Arizona. We do that and we're 7-6 with the tiebreaker over Arizona. Arizona plays at Tennessee and Minnesota. They probally split it, and if we can win the next 3 that only puts us a half game out.

It's been over for awhile

The team seems unprepared to play on sundays and the coaches have a hard time making adjustments during the game. It wasn't until we went to the spread that the Packers stopped jamming the line of scrimmage. By then, it was the third quarter. And then it took forever to adjust to their cornerback blitzes. They must have seen the Packers' offense a million times with all the teams that run similar offenses (Minnesota, Seattle) but they still couldn't stay with the receivers or stop the run.

According to the sports networks, we are basically out of the playoffs.

What are we playing for? 8-8 record? We have a far more talented team than last year, Singletary had one entire off-season to prepare, and all that stuff that comes along with it.

We have a huge list of excuses, and a even huger list of things we do wrong.

If you go by the buck-stops-here philosophy, after the dust settles down, the HC Singeltary needs to take a deep look at himself and figure out if he wants to do this.
Granted it's his first year as the HC, but he also needs to understand that motivation speeches alone won't get us a win.

As for our OLINE, OC and the QB situation, everything needs serious changes...unless of course another mediocore yr is acceptable by the 49ers.

You guys ever think the spread only is effective because we're losing by 20 points and the D lets up?

I personally think Raye has opened up his playbook a bit more these past few weeks.

Problem is that we're just not a very good team and we have a horrible QB.

Singletary is pretty stubborn, but has shown he is willing to make changes. He's pulled QBs, benched receivers, shaken up lineups, etc. The biggest change that he needs to make right now is his offensive philosophy. I think that it will happen, unfortunately, it will happen too late for this season.

He has some similarities to Nolan, but not enough to warrant being fired. Nolan never made ANY changes. With Nolan here, we still would've been rolling with Hill, Roman starting, Baas on the bench (I point this out because with Nolan, we never knew what we really had with Baas. With Singletary here, we know EXACTLY what we have in Baas). With Nolan, there is no way this team would have even been in playoff contention, let alone being competitive week in and week out. Even when we would make comebacks in garbage time in 2006, we still would lose by 2 or more scores.

As the thread points out, he still is a rookie head coach, and although the patience of 49ers fans is out, he needs to be given time to grow and learn. I understand coaches are on a short leash nowadays, but only one season? For a team that has loss 5 of their 6 games by less than 25 points combined? Under these conditions, Belichek would've been fired in 2000, Walsh in 1979 (yes even Walsh. The 49ers offense improved but they were still 2-14), Joe Gibbs probably for just starting 0-5 in 1981, etc.

BTW, I don't get the Shanahan love that some people won't let go of. Shanahan is a great coach, but the only way I'd want to see him in San Francisco is as an offensive coordinator. If he comes here, he probably would want complete control and its proven he can't build a D. He didn't have one in Denver for the better part of this decade.

i am really sick of u people complaining look at the upside last year when Nolan was a coach we would b getting blown out by a lot of these teams... we got a strong d u say they are not young but they r there young and inexperienced example goldson... he is playing strong our d line is looking a lot better than what they did Alex smith has his up n downs he is still just blooming he has a lot of potential our o line is hurting... give it time boys our team needs to get in sync don't be a bunch of greedy pricks we may be losing but were a good team give it time.....

Singletary's vision of an impose our will with our running game, is old-school philosophy. The game has changed and we don't have the players or coaches to make that happen at least this season. We drafted two backs in the draft to complement gore - one is gone, the other is not ready or big enough, the full back can't gain 3 inches, and the other back is converted quarterback.

Singletary is a great motivator and has energy. But its obvious he is never going to be the master gameplanner and teambuilder the way other coaches are. When you watch Belicheck or the Steelers head coach whose name I can't remember, you can tell they are constantly analyzing and planning during the game. Who to cut next year, who needs more playing time, what plays are working, who on the other team is hurt, etc. If we want to build a great team, Singletary will need to rely on his coordinators and GM to do all the details for him.

Its maybe not the best idea to have a head coach who wouldn't succeed as an offensive or defensive coordinator.

Sing is a FRAUD....singFRAUD.
