2 or 3 years ago, I thought he was our best reciever.

Willis
Gore
J.Smith
Staley
Davis
Crabtree
Spencer
Lawson
Clements
Heitman
Morgan
Goldston
Brown
A.Franklin
Lee
Nedney
Rachal (still young)
A.Smith
Spikes
Haralson
Mcdonald
I wouldn't want to lose any of these guys some on my list are in fact suspect like Rachal but i believe he has tons of potential/A.Smith hopefully will breakout this year. Haralson isn't playing well but I would hate to see him leave now and make an impact on another team. Spikes is older but I would not want to lose his leadership and he's got 2 years or so left in him.

I think there are only 2 Niners that are obvious choices this team for a long time as you put it... Patrick Willis and Michael Crabtree. They will be the 2 cornerstones for this team on both sides of the ball.
Frank Gore has a limited shelf life as most running backs do. I'd give him another 2 years of being a very good player. Running backs are not that difficult to replace.
The only other 3 players that I'd say for sure will be part of this team for the next few years are Joe Staley,Vernon Davis, and maybe Alex Smith (if he develops like we hope)

Frankly, all of the guys I would be worried about are locked up for several more years or will get new contracts soon. but in theory, I guess Willis, Staley, Lee, Davis, and Gore are the only players I would consider irreplaceable as of now.

Willis and Davis.
I love Gore, but:
A) RBs are easily replaced.
B) He's always injured.
