Not too many players to worry about immediately, but Baas and Franklin I guess. I imagine Battle will get an offer as well.

Some big names coming up next year to be re-signed though...I'm sure Willis will get a deal sometime soon, but I wonder if the potential cap-free year will enter into any discussions, or if it will delay negotiations until the end of the season?

honestly, im not worried about any of the potential FA's after 09.

now Willis, VD and Gore, thats another thing, they i hope get new deals, especially Willis, i dont think a uncapped yr will hinder the negoatiations.

yeah, looking at the way we've handled contracts the last few years, I'm not worried about losing anyone extremely important. I do wonder if the potential uncapped year will cause guys to delay signing a new contract, not to jump ship, but because they feel they can get a sweeter payday...but i'm a little foggy on all the details of how the lack of a cap works...from what i've read its not really supposed to be a big deal, so i guess I'm not too worried.

Why are some of those guys like price and dobson collins signed into 2010 when theyre probably going to be cut? is that like a team option or what?

Indeed a lot of important names coming up after 2010. I would expect that is being addressed even as we speak. The trend lately has been to keep these extension discussions out of the press and then just make the announcement, out of the blue, just as it should be.

They will either sign or tag Willis, but won't let him get away. I am hoping a Willis extension is announced soon, something along the lines of 6 years $60 Million with 30+ guaranteed.

The rest can be let go and we can fish the FA market for upgrades to those positions and maybe bump some of the PS players up if they have shown improvement enough to make the team.
