Hate to say this, but we're better off signing a veteran castoff from another team than hoping that a young UDFA like Briggs can make the transistion. He's definitely a guy worth keeping on the PS and developing over time, but we need someone who can help us right now in passing situations.
I don't know exactly who that will be, but someone decent will get cut for some reason (numbers game, high salary, a team wanting a high draft pick to start, etc.) and we need to swoop in quickly when that happens.
If not, hello Roderick Green x 5
Didn't Green get arrested for speeding and weeding a few months back???
Yea. I think he was busted with weed also.

I re-watched the 2nd half of the Raiders game and Spikes and Lawson are correct when they think Briggs has been impressive.
He made three tackles on the Raiders 1st drive in the 2nd half. They ran three running plays away from his side but he kept backside containment and closed in on the RB.
He also showed some quickness off the LOS and was a split second to early on that offsides call.
He definitely stood out more than Jay Moore

For sure. I'm pulling for the guy but the future looks bleak...unless he ends up on the ps...

If nothing else, Briggs is giving Manusky something to think about. GM was key to bringing in Marquis Harris, but I'm hearing Briggs' name more than Harris'. I like the competition...DB should only get better as time goes on, so Harris could be in trouble making the roster, if not this year, then next.

I really look Mitchell too! He looks big & mean & seems to play that way in the middle. I would like to see what he can do with the starters. He seems to get more push & pressure than Franklin & Sopoaga.

I like the spotlight you have put on these two as far as competition. Both Spikes and Willis have spoken about Briggs when asked who they have noticed.

This is the NFL and there is no redshirting in the NFL. How many practice squad players actually have an impact in the NFL?
If the guy has some skills and could be productive then he will make the roster and be worked on.
If a guy goes on the practice squad, he will probably never do anything for us.

He played pretty well last night. Had the only 'legit' sack of the preseason (on the fumble) and was pretty much all over the field.
Looks like a good player.
Oh -- and it is Diyral Briggs....

I'm not surprised one bit. He stood out to me the most as far as applying pressure goes.
