Ruining my 49er thread... Oh wait I forgot, Alex Smith, Frank Gore, Mike Singletary, the defence and our fans aren't 49er related.

I was looking at your profile because of the spelling comments made by the other guys and I saw your profile pic.... WOW! ...That is my all-time NFL play right there. Thank you "Chief"!

defense*

Seriously. Why is that word so hard for people to spell?

Why? Because you are American. If you look it up in a dictionary you will find it is defence in English And defense in American.

Go DEFENCE!!!!!! b

F@$& HIM...Maybe it's his camp that's slowin' us down!
wow now not only is crabtree pissing off the fans of the team that selected him in the draft, but now he is getting blamed for other draftees not signing as well. The guy can't catch a break but I guess that is what will happen when you are a hold out

Crabtree is not going to sign until he knows what Raji is going to get. It's ridiculous to blame this all on Crabtree.
^ What's really ironic? They state that people shouldn't blame the player for the holdout... OH REALLY?!?!

(Where's that funny ORLY owl when you need him?)

this f**k isnt signed because of him and his agent
Just trying to point the blame elsewhere

If they wanted to they could have a contract already, he is being just as greedy as they say crabtree is

Let's see the 49ers throw for about 250 yards Friday night and Ziegler catches four passes for 60 yards and then see if there is any change.

This little soap opera is going to last a few more days. I said two weeks ago that it would be after at least the first PS game before he signs. This is just a multi-million dollar game of chicken right now. There are now rules, no set strategies. All four of those guys are just waiting for one of the others to decide it is time to play. Once the first one signs, the other three will quickly follow.

Can somebody make a Snicker's mock advertisement?

"Not going anywhere for a while?"
If maybin really wants to play than he should stfu and take whats fair for the number 11th pick rather than hoping to cash in on crabtrees payday. at least crab has the production to back up his demands.
I just wish these kids would look at the big picture and realize that getting on the field and producing will land you the bigger bucks in the future.....

I've got a sneaky suspicion that either Monroe or Raji is going to sign in the next 48 hours. Signs are pointing to Raji hitting the field by the weekend.

MD got a question for you. Ive been going over our WR list and have come up with a slight conundrum. Chances are we carry 5 or 6 WR's on the starting lineup, now looking over the issues at hand I think we will have to carry more. At this point WR's who could start if the season was tomorrow would be:

Morgan
Bruce
Battle
Hill
Zeigler

So that would be our starting 5 who are healthy, available, and know the offense. Those 5 would be the most effective who can contribute ASAP. With Jones out we cant place him on the PUP and he wont be ready until maybe week 4 but we have to keep him on the active roster, so that makes 6. Who knows when Crabtree signs could be tomorrow could be 3 weeks but he will be on the final 53 as well. He wont be game ready (in my opinion for at least a 4-6 weeks), so his chances of even being a factor wont be until maybe week 3-4 if not longer. My questions is can we even cut anybody? If week keep 6 and include Jones and Crabtree on that list we only have 4 guys who actually have a clue of what to do? I don't think that is a big enough safety net for us, we need to have at lest 5 who are game ready and competent of the playbook. So do we keep 7 WR's on the final 53......how does this get worked out?

We will carry 5 WR's into the season, and pick up Jones along the way. It really comes down to keeping two of the three WR's: Battle, Hill and Zeigler. As of the last report, Hill is the one struggling to make an impact this offseason, and I predicted this could be an issue earlier this summer.

Ultimately, the Niners will probably make the final decision based on special teams. Battle and Hill add special team value, but Zeigler does not. Teams need their 5th WR to add special team skills. Zeigler may, or may not, have practice squad eligibility.

Battle is more than likely on the back side of his career, but as stated numerous times this summer, he is a cockroach in a nuclear holocaust. I would never bet against him, even though many on this board put a fork into him before training camp began.

So by your prediction we go into the season with Morgan, Bruce, and ? as starters. Then we have Jones unable to play and Crabtree in limbo. We will carry 5 WR's into the season, and pick up Jones along the way. So you mean we will have 6 WR's on the final roster not just 5? Hypothetically, if Crabtree holds out longer then expected what do you think will happen?

I think the 5 WR's going into this season will be Morgan, Bruce, Battle, Crabtree, Hill, with Zeigler on the PS. It seems very likely that Morgan and Bruce will start. The best battle might be between Battle, Hill and Crabtree for the number 3 WR. I'd lay money on Battle, since he can play all three WR positions, and is very reliable on third downs. Crabtree will fight with Hill for the 4th WR spot, and Hill should have the edge early on. Eventually, Crabtree will pass Hill and probably pass Battle to be the number three or four receiver, depending how Jones re-emerges after his injury is healed.
