yeah he looks good, glad to go in with morgan bruce and jones and arnaz on clutch third downs, we dont need crabs this year anyways.
Signing Jones seemed like a little bit of a reach at the time, but it's starting to sound like a very good move now.

dont forget Jason Hill. seems like people forgot how good he looked after he finally got some playing time last year. he was catching everything thrown to him
It was another guy with potential who had injury issues. We knew he had the long speed coming in and the good thing is that it is actually translating to the field.

no doubt, we could have actually been fine without drafting crabs to be honest now that i look back at it, but i still wouldn't have changed anything we always gotta take best player available, but i think brandon jones was just a victum of bad situation with crabs drafted by us, i was expecting him to have a big season with the number 81 gives any reciever magical power lol
I'm glad we picked up Crabs. He's the playmaker our O needs. Now if he'd only sign the damn contract!!!!!
I think B Jones will be a heck of a slot receiver for us and could be a solid #2 if Bruce struggles, goes down or shows his age. IMO, Brandon Jones will be everything we thought Arnaz Battle would be and a little more but while Battle showed some flashes over the years, he could never stay healthy.
Bruce (was our best WR last year...and might still be at his age....made CBs look silly at times with his routes)
Josh Morgan (showed what he can do on the field)
Jason Hill (made key 3rd down catches last year and is the fastest of the group)
Brandon Jones (seems to be playing well so far....Fisher thinks highly of him)

+
Crabtree

+
Vernon Davis

are there going to be enough pass opportunities to go around?

and we are suppose to be a "run orientated" offense.

Yes because if Raye plays it right and the QB finds them right, someone will always be open and we will have an old fashioned "spread" the ball around offense.

All the competition at the WR spot is awesome, the guys are forced to step up cuz they all want PT, the Jones pick up is looking really good as well. I like what I am hearing so far. Man I can't wait!

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? We are hearing more about the passing game in Mini-camps, OTA's and training camp. Singletary said he wants to be able to run and impose the Niner's will on their opponents. Sounds like they will be able to throw if that isn't working. Sweet!
It is very early in camp, but he continues to make a strong showing. Good news for the team.

It looks like we might actually have targets to throw to in 2009.
