How many fake sacks were reported for our defense today?
Supposedly we still had a hard time getting pressure..... -9fA
it seems like its gonna be another long ass yr when it comes to the pass rush for us. i dont care how good our secondary is we still will get picked apart by warner and hasselbeck if we give them 10 secs to throw
you think we could get any pressure if we blitz willis up the middle? i mean we got to get it somehow.
willis not out on the field to make the play, tho... is kind of a risk. i like him away from the QB but I guess if all else fails, why not try it out a couple times? Lawson can cover so they can switch the cover/blitz.

exactly, thats where manny is at his best when hes flying around the field and covering. willis is a playmaker on d. he had 4 sacks as a rookie. give him a chance to get to the qb, he can probably do it.

So far Jason Hill is unheard of, man that's gonna suck if he is cut, he showed some potential at the end of last season.
Glad to hear Smith doing better in afternoon. If Vernon keeps this up he is gonna be very good this year!
Hill edging ahead? 'i think he did a good job,' singletary said. 'i really did.'

from barrows

someone remind me, are we name a starter after saturday or after the 3rd game?
Maybe I will pickup VD yet again on my fantasy team.

He hasn't helped me out in the last two years I picked him up though.

game logs from last season, forgot he had a 80 yard game

I don't know about him, I'd love for him to pan out since he's a SF native. But it always seems like he's nicked up or we just don't hear about him at all. He's probably competing with Spurlock since Battle's spot seems to be guaranteed.

I am not holding my breath. I am expecting Hill and Zeigler to get cut

I've heard it both ways . . . from Singletary . . .

I have to believe if Hill simply moves the team effectively with his reps Saturday he'll seal the deal and be named the starter heading into the 3rd game at Dallas.

I think Smith would have to be enfuego against Oakland to prolong the competition.

I picked him and Morgan up. Call it homer moves but I say Championship
Matt Maiocco Interview on KNBR (08/19/09)

ENJOY!
It was a pretty low-key morning session for the 49ers' offense. The run game looks pretty good - Glen Coffee had a nice day - but the passing game did not do much. Shaun Hill is showing signs of taking hold of the quarterback position. The offense just seems to move better with Hill at the controls.

In my opinion, Hill is starting to inch ahead in the quarterback competition. Perhaps, I'm even downplaying it. Hill might actually be taking a commanding lead based on how he seems more at ease in unfamiliar, unscripted activities - such as these practices against the Raiders.

But as I've written before, even if Smith is not the starter when the season begins, the organization still expects him to get his chance at some point. Singletary is not averse to changing quarterbacks, as he showed in his first half-season as coach. So neither Hill nor Smith can afford to get too comfortable in whatever roles they open the season.

--Michael Crabtree is nowhere to be found (there's still no progress on his contract). Brandon Jones is out through September with a broken shoulder. And third-year player Jason Hill has yet to assert himself.

Are they rotating Hill in so he can get some reps or are they keeping him on the sidelines?

I am sure he is getting some type of playing time. It is training camp. the problem is Hill tends to just vanish into the shadows of Morgan.

Help yourself.

where is ur kitchen at

lol. At my house.

where is ur house at

Tsk. "Never end a sentence with a preposition."

It should be: "Where is your house at, sir?"

(Noobs.)

At my street.

In my town.

In my county.

In my state. (Not NM, tho I was born in Albuquerque.)

Here in America.

k?

I never said "help yourself" to my stuff.

If you're in the neighborhood of Sacramento, California, let me know, though.

Actually, while you're correct to an extent, the proper sentence should be:

"Where is your house, sir?"

And, it is okay to end a sentence with a preposition in certain cases. Just not in the one the former poster had written.

Yes, I know. (BA English, UC Berkeley. MA English, UCLA. Taught English for several years.)

I was just trying to avoid him coming back at me with "Where's your house at, a*****e," which is the way the joke usually goes.

Didn't realize I'd awaken your inner grammar czar. Thanks for the help.

Carry on.

Once, I got prepositioned by a Mexican prostitute, followed by a full crotch grab. I ended my sentence with an exclamation!

And that would be grammatically correct. IMHO.
