I'm pretty sure the issue of a roof and a sun shade on one side of the field were addressed after the first season. People were complaining as they always do so the 49ers looked into the possibility of a roof or some type of cover. I seem to remember that they couldn't do it because of the flight path of planes taking off. A roof would provide enough clearance.

A lot of people said it would never come back to Levi's. Seems the NFL feels differently than a lot of 49ers fans.
