Obviously human trafficking is terrible and disgusting, but he got charged with a minor felony. If he was just a John getting a rub and tug, how is he to know these girls are trafficked and not sex workers there on their own will? I think if he knew, that reflects poorly on him, but if he's just a dude getting a r&t I don't see the big deal. Yes it's also odd a billionaire is going to a rinky dinkie joint like that when he can get any top end escort he wants.

You have answered your own question. And anyway, I think he would be rather dumb not to know something was going on. Charging him with a felony is likely just a holding manoeuvre.

He doesn't see their living conditions, he doesn't conversate with them(assuming), and he allegedly has nothing to do with the ring. Maybe I'm naive here, but I think theres a good chance he's just a dude that was in the mood for a good old fashioned.
