In before the "guess we won't be drafting a RB" comment.

I still want mccaffrey

Bringing in Harris will have no impact on drafting a RB.

We know.
Another good thing about the new regime, is that guys like Mike Davis will most likely get cut and be forgotten during pre season. He's been here 2 years, and has been a complete bust. Baalke would keep him so the pick doesn't look wasted. Lynch will realize that Davis is no good, and cut and move on. There a little more Baalke trash on the roster, but a bunch of it is going into its final year, so even if it some how sticks around, it will most likely be gone next year, like a whole bunch of what we cleaned out this year.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and some times Spring cleaning takes 2 springs to get done :)

Lol, he's a 28 year old journeymen with fumbling issues.
Maybe he signed to get whatever guaranteed pay he can since even he knows he'll most likely get cut and won't make final roster. Then, he'll "retire" and possibly go into HS or college coaching the following year.

Back when doing that whole projection project:

--- DuJuan Harris is on pace for 419 (5 games). Mid-season start. Also, when targeted, can add 613 in receiving (3 games) = 1,032 yards from scrimmage

--- Tevin Coleman - 520 rushing & 421 receiving = 941 yards from scrimmage

But like all our players, massively underutilized even when successful. This isn't saying Harris will make the cut but this gives you an idea of how Kyle will want to use his type of skill set.

Keep in mind all O players in most of the last 16 yrs have played in a flawed O system. Never during that time did we have a great OC nor a greart HC or HC/OC who had a mindset made for NFL playcalling. Now we suddenly have a guy who can not only call great plays, great games, but calls some plays precisely so they set up another. No other HC here has done that since Coach Walsh. ...and now Kyle. Kyle is a lot like his dad when he was younger. Same kind of O mind.

Point is, not one of our players except for the few signed that had played for ATL under Kyle, have ever had that gifted a playcaller before, and all that goes along with it...great OL, great playcalling, and great game plannning. IF you like O football, you will love this yr and will be surprised at what kyle gets out of those lucky guys who make the O on this team....a lot more than you have seen from them before.

This post gives me the O face. Shanahan can draw up some nice plays.

Once Kyle (if) fixes his fumbling issues, he should be legit... kid got moves.

Not comparing, but didn't Gore have some issues at one point with fumbling, then got it fixed one offseason

Love the move. Hey can some analytics dude see his fumble ℅ difference of when he's carrying the ball on a run and compare to when catching a ball.

Bump for my question from earlier...

Also, I love this move as well cause then people can't say during the draft... "49ers really need a RB, so we can have no glaring need as we approach the draft.
Have to say this is a bit of a surprise. While Harris has demonstrated that he can certainly be an explosive runner he puts the ball on the ground way too often. I always liked Draughn better. Not as good a runner but decent with goods hands out of the backfield and really solid in pass protection.
