You wouldn't want to be the guy forgetting Vick has no touch and asking him to toss you a hammer.

He will probably run it over instead

the fact is, Vick is an idiot who screwed up big time, and lost the trust and confidence of the NFL. i personally didnt find him that entertaining. he was overrated. he glanced downfield, and if his homie Roddy White aint open, and his homie Michael Jenkins aint open, he took off running. every time. his cannon arm was pointless because he had zero touch or control over where it went.

he was given so much by the NFL and the fans. he had it all. millions of dollars, and he decided that instead of being thankful for this opportinuty, it was more important to smoke weed, arrange illegal dog fighting rings for gambling purposes, and trying to buy drugs under a fake name.

he was an embarrassment to the NFL. he had his chance, and lost it. the NFL doesnt need him, they do just fine without him. hed just end up being like Ricky Williams. come back as a backup and be too washed up to ever be useful again.

The only reason you laugh is out of ignorance, or if that word offends you, lack of awareness. An animal being stuffed into a cage with seven or eight other hens for its entire life while being kept in the dark to create a more stressful environment which in turn causes it to lay more eggs is cruel. And it is unnecessary. And when I say its entire life, I mean it. From days after it is born and plumped up on steroids and growth hormones until the day it dies in its cage.

And pigs, cows, chickens, goose for Fois Grois, etc. don't have it any better. But you know what animal does? A dog used for fights. And the reason I say that is because every moment of the dog's life isn't lived in agony up until its death, unlike animals raised for food (excluding organic and cage free animals which make up a very small portion of the market).

This guy is making a valid point. Makes sense.

49lifer...Your argument is hilarious. How can you form an argument between factory farming and dog fighting? While I agree both are unethical you should continue your argument with What about the millions of microbes and soil organisms that are killed every day by vegetable producers?Do you grow everything yourself in a controlled environment in your house using solar generated lighting and trapped rain water?...Probably not soooo...... The reality is we ALL can do better has humans...vegetarian or not.

Oh I'm an organic farmer by the way so arguments like yours always give me a chuckle.

I personally think he should be given the Pacman Jones leash. Let a team take a flyer and see if he sinks or swims with all of the media pressure.

I work with troubled youth and while I won't rationalize his behavior there is a HUGE reason he behaved/behaves as he does outside of cultural argument. He deserves another chance.

As do I. I've worked in group homes and at homeless centers for teenagers. I don't believe in giving up on people. But your argument about microbes takes the argument outside of the spectrum of animals.

My argument isn't funny, it is serious. Our laws are hypocritical and it is a joke that Michael Vick has had to serve a day in prison. Worst case scenario, he should have been forced into community service, therapy and possibly donating to charities that protect animal rights.

The chuckle is in the hypocrisy you are making in your comments. My point isn't taking anything away any more than your argument already has my friend.

Millions of acres of cropland are destroyed everyday from overcropped and over worked soil . The same soil the vegetables you eat come from. The same soil the government lets massive farms pollute and destroy.

So...

Lets get back to football.

But again your argument is flawed. For those people who eat meat, they are causing more land which is used for the purpose of growing crops to be destroyed than those people who are vegetarians. For anyone scratching their head, it is because of the crops that are grown to feed the livestock.

I'm all for getting back to football. But don't laugh at my arguments when you are talking nonsense.

Explain to me how my argument is flawed please...I'd really love to know. I think I know what I'm talking about.

Do a little research and you will see exactly what I'm taking about. The same BIG breaks that are given to LARGE cattle farmers are also given to HUGE monocrop vegetable farmers. You think years of spraying herbicides and pesticides doesn't take its toll on the planet...er um YEA. I guess your factoring in that cows have feelings...But then lets close zoos and aquariums and anything that adds stress to the lives of these animals.

My point is...we ALL can do better...whether is be hoarding millions of animals into feed lots, or fighting chickens or over farming crop land. I'm all about ENDING factory farming as it is a joke...but just about everything the government chooses to regulate ( or not mainly) comes down to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

FWIW my wife is a vegetarian

Of course chemicals being introduced into the environment has serious consequences. When I go to the grocery, I buy organic produce. I'm not going to argue anymore. I think we both understand where we're coming from. And I agree, everyone can do better. That is why I'm constantly trying to make decisions and changes in my life so that I am doing better.

Hmmmm, still making an example of the poor guy. What he did was f**ked up, but they took his career, money, life and freedom and still won't give him some slack on his first offense ever!

Had he admitted what he did instead of attempting to lie to the judge even long after everyone knew the truth then his sentence would have been lighter.

Vick is a piece of s**t and I'm glad he's in prison. He deserves to be where he is. He's lucky he didn't get a longer sentence.

torturing animals

illegal dog fighting

illegal gambling

Perjury

Lying to a freaking JUDGE during sentencing!
