NFC West 2026 Draft Class Comparison

I thought day 1, NFC west were the clear losers which set us up perfectly to take the lead...but we didn't. After all 3 days, I dont really love anyone's draft.

I might even put the 49ers in front, evaluating the entite collection of talent.

But the Cardinals obviously got the single best (and probably only) potential game changer.

Them and Seattle also have probably the most players with a direct path towards an opportunity to start this year.

I wasn't nearly as high on Bud Clark as others, but hes probably the single most perfect fit of any draft.

One of the things that myself and others (maybe you two) have pointed out with this regime is that it's a lock that they draft at least one prospect from the Senior Bowl. I haven't seen anyone point out or don't know if anyone else noticed this yet: they took it too a whole new level this draft.

5 of 8 players selected were Senior Bowl participants!

Romello Height
Kaelon Black
Gracen Halton
Carver Willis
Ephesians Prysock

I might have to go back and watch the Senior Bowl practices and game
thankfully the other teams NFC west drafts are pretty meh as well. rams whole draft is going to be marred with the simpson pick which makes no sense for a win now team. its not like their qb is jimmy g, its freaking stafford

but the status quo doesnt really help us all that much, we are by far the oldest team in the division and we still depend on core players who are 30+ and/or will be coming off a major injury (Trent, Evans, Kittle, Bosa, Mykel)

In the Rama defense, they were drafting with house money
The way that I look at it right now is:

The Cardinals drafted the most players that I was interested in (Love, Bisontis – although I wasn't quite as high as some, Proctor, and Virgil).

They may have had the best draft.

I think we ultimately tied with Seattle, maybe even a little better TBH.

Rams easily had the worst draft, but did pick a tight end I liked.
Its a little unfair because they obviously had both the most room to improve and the highest draft pick, but Arizona is definitely the NFC West team that leveled up the most (on paper).

I feel Seattle also leveled up relative to where they were after their FA losses.

Niners added talent, but not sure we're a measurably better team after the draft than we were going into it.

Rams definitely arent.

This is a dangerous way of thinking

The 49ers acted like this during the SB window and drafted roster fillers (i.e., Jake Moody etc.) instead of looking for gems with their picks

The roster holes started showing up 2 years down the road

I don't think they believe Stafford is sticking around much longer.
Nobody had a good draft on paper.

Cardinals picked a RB at #3 and then Carson Beck at #65. What a joke. They already have like 3 runningbacks and have needs alt throughout that roster.

Seattle, i like Bud Clark and Beau Stephens but the rest of the class is meh

Rams, they really fumbled. They must be convinced Ty Simpson is the next best thing.

Halton was a guy I was really familiar with after he had a great Senior Bowl week. He's my favorite pick from this entire class.

Love is a phenomenal pick for a Shanahan offense. He'll be utilized similar to the way the 49ers use McCaffrey. He's a guy that I especially didnt want going there.

Dont look now but the Cardinals are a decent QB away from having a pretty explosive offense. Love, McBride, Harrison Jr, Wilson, Bourne, Virgil, there's some real talent there and they upgraded the OL too.

I was speaking only to the pick being from ATL, and not their own. Still not how I would use premium capital.
