Considering how little the 49ers' backup RBs see the field (Guerendo never played on offense last year, #2 Robinson played a few times per game), selecting any running back in the 3rd round is overkill and this RB was ranked ultra low (60-90 picks above consensus) on most boards.

CMC is getting older and slowed down some last year from overuse but when the bullets are flying shanahan will never take him off the field unless he's carted off
