Is there a WR that is 5' 6" that runs fast and is shifty that can return punts ? That's going to be our pick. A small, fast, short armed, small hands, speedster. He will have at least a good attitude.

Exactly, it's Shanahan who falls in love with a s**tty RB or WR and insists that he needs them

R2 #33 De Stribling WR ???????

Yeah but it's the GM's job to figure out the where to draft the player at the best value. Lynch has always been awful draft strategist and is living off of Kyle's coat tails and he knows it. That's why he probably caters to Kyle's draft crushes to much and reaches for them.

Exactly, Lynch sucks, and Jed York is a moron by not ensuring that they have a good draft manager
Kind of the same story for Stukes though. I was mocking him in the 4th round early in the process. Then third. Then people had him ranked top 60.

Cards could be nice at 34 but they are divisional and we will all scream Kyle helped out friends and family despite being in the same division.

i would still do it. Especially if it's a high 2nd.

Does the article on the Athletic quote a source on this? Or is it just an unreliable "insiders tell me?" I think Kyle really wants to move Mac and pick up another draft pick or two in the process. The QB that Kyle drafted last year is ready to assume backup duties.

It's just speculation by Tafur. Not as good as Russini insight on what the Pats were up to.

Teams thought our ask of a 1st was too high, but would we be surprised if young LaFleur swung a deal for him?

Thanks. Yes, with Shanahan mentioning that he was "surprised" by the lack of trade offers for Mac, that may have translated into: "I'm ticked we didn't get a first round pick for him!" It's very possible that there were trade offers that Kyle just rejected because he thought Mac had first round value. So, yeah, we will find out today if there's an offer for Mac and how much his services will command from Kyle. Who will NOT be trading Mac to a division rival like the Cardinals. He's already learned his lesson by watching his other reclamation project smoke his team in the playoffs and win a Championship in the process.

It's not shocking they went with WR, not sure why ppl having meltdowns.

its not that they took a WR, its who they took at WR and where he was projected to go.
its a big reach, similar to Nick Martin last year

He was projected to go in the 2nd round. Without another pick in the second round, it was now or never if they felt this guy best fit the need.

Shanahan should take another WR here. That way we won't see the same s**t when us fans are praying for O-line again!!!!

I'm hoping it lights a fire under him to stay healthy and not wear gold jewelry in the tenderloin.

The WR room was terrible last year and the Aiyuk drama made it worse. Also Ricky cant stay healthy. This seems more of a security pick more than anything. If Ricky/Watkins/Cowing don't work out, he will get plenty of playing time with Evan's and Kirk.

Makes sense to me

Also, f**k BA
I'm blown away that we can trade back twice then spend the next 24 hours fielding offers and still end up reaching nearly a full round with our pick.

Oh well
In hindsight, since we wanted receiver, it seems quite surprising we passed up on Omar Cooper for Stribling. Lose the 5th yr option for WR which can be valuable and only gain a 5th rd pick.

Cowing and Watkins need a friend to hang out with when they go to six flags. While the tall guys ride the coasters

our GM's job unfortunately is to do whatever papa Kyle tells him to do.
