Same height and weight when Von Miller came out. Von has 33 1/2" arm length though. But some of those highlights though are shade of Von like reps

You think he's this athletic?

I've seen comps to Alex Highsmith and a shorter Leonard Floyd.

I can't toss out Von Miller comps

Yes. Watch some film. The guy is electric

I've watched his film. He isn't von miller or Khalil Mack imo.

You threw out Von Miller comps for Harold Landry.

It wasn't only you. Lots of people were comping him to Von. Mostly his ability to bend which was elite in college. Then he couldn't stay healthy and clearly ruined his ability to bend. Even Bucky Brooks was comping him to Von it was just the successful speed rusher in the NFL. I just remember being anti Landry at 9 cause Jaire, Roquan and Derwin were my preferred players. I was also against Minkah and I should be shamed for that

Gotcha. Yeah we didn't really know about the health stuff. He dropped to the second rd? Over 50 sacks in 5 yrs ain't too shabby for him though. That would have been a reach looking back. I mean Green could be a comparable EDGE. I still think Landry was better coming out.

I just never saw SF going S/LBer at 9. We got Warner in the 3rd that yr

FWIW I think I read somewhere that the packers might be moving on from Jaire. Injuries have gotten him and James as well unfortunately

I wonder what his "character" concerns might be? Just to give a little backdrop, he was a 3 star commit to Virginia and played in 6 games as a true freshman in 2021. He was away from the football team in 2022 and entered the transfer portal afterwards signing with Marshall. Played 2 years at Marshall. I assume the character issues stem from 2022.

I couldn't find anything online about character issues or DV charge as someone else posted.

I think it was Benjamin Allbright who indicated he had off the field stuff.

If you dig into it there is a lot of "what the heck happened" stuff related to his move from Virginia to Marshall as Miked mentions above. Usually if there's smoke there's fire there.

Now it could be something comparable to Randy Moss who ironically transferred to Marshall after issues at Florida State. If it's minor then sign me up for taking the kid. If there is something there that isn't a simple case of immaturity then let someone else take the chance.

yeah those are my thoughts. Good thing is nothing serious has come out so far so its probably minor. Unlike the LSU receiver.

only I saw what Albright brought up and also the Virginia HC saying this

"With Mike Green, he's just no longer active with the team anymore and that's where I'm going to leave that one," Elliott said and did not elaborate any further on Green's departure.
We need this dude. Let bosa give him a few more moves and we would be dominant.

Get this dude at 11 or grab another pick and trade back and get him at 14-15.

I know combine is a horrible thing for talent evaluations overall but I can't wait for it honestly.

The movement drills will be excellent data to add to what we've already seen from some of these guys.

I think as long as the team uses the philosophy they implemented last draft we'll be in good shape.

No injury history guys, no projects early in the draft.

Nothing against him but I don't want to see Robert Beal Jr as one of our edge rushers again.
He looks good but he's a smallish guy. So who knows how that is going to work out? That doesn't always work in the NFL. Let's see how he works out at the combine. I like him but still feel like interior defensive line is more essential for us. In addition to offensive line. Pass rush would be great but it's not our primary need. That said you can always use more guys like that so I wouldn't find it bad. Assuming he pans out.
The thing is he's a speed guy but he absolutely trucked that dude at the SB. If he's got speed and power he's going to be a force.

I blame Conerly more for oversetting than Green just bull rushing through him.

it would be different if there was consistent film of him using power. Most of his success that I've seen is with speed/bend more than having those violent hands/using speed to power. Not saying that's a bad thing. Who knows what SF is looking for there. Feel like they prefer those 260lb+ DE who can put their hand in the dirt.

Conerly has got to be dropping a lot lately. Getting trucked in the Senior Bowl and games. His base and anchor is pretty bad. But he's athletic moving around. He looks athletic and I was high on him (Conerly). But starting to think he's nowhere near as good as the projections.

Green is pretty good and looks powerful, explosive, athletic. But is he big enough to hold up to the rigors of the NFL. He's a little small. So not sure he will always truck people and will he also be healthy? He was productive though.
