A DE that doesn't get talked about a lot in here (or really in the media) but is looked at as a top 100 guy. He's a 3 yr captain at UK (never happened before). He's regarded as a "culture builder" in the locker room. He's a cancer survivor and a grown ass man. -Heavy hands and one of the best run defenders in college. -He can line up anywhere on the field. He's taken snaps outside the OT. He can play standing up or from two- and three-point stances at 5-technique. He can slide inside to 3-technique and even shade above the center. -Violent at the POA with good explosion off the LOS. -Plays low, great pad level. -He's not the most bendy EDGE and his lateral ability isn't amazing. He's more of a power rusher then speed. -3 yr starter so how much more will he improve? He needs to work on counters (having more of a pass rush plan). -Will he ever be "the dude" or is he a guy that will just be a solid piece to a DL? meaning is he gonna be the guy doing the dirty work taking on doubles and creating chaos while someone else gets the sacks TFLs? He's kinda a f**k up the play guy, rather than just sack the QB off the edge DE. -He's not really a straight up "edge rusher" and playing all over the line while amazing might be one of those jack of trades master of none things. He reminds me of another former Kentucky pass rusher in Za'Darius Smith. Here is his RAS score Josh Paschal is a DE prospect in the 2022 draft class. Samson is the "speed rusher" imo you gotta have a guy that can hit at the POA. A lot of these speed guys have next to nothing in power.

if the goal is to come away with a 3rd down speed guy only, I'm not using a 2nd on that.

Finally got around to watching more of this kid and he became one of my favorite players in this entire class. Your initial post is spot on. Culture builder describes him best in the locker room and "just f**ks up plays" best describes on the field. I would prefer getting him in the 3rd as you said but not even gonna lie, I wouldn't be mad if we took him at 61. Shoot, with people now catching on, I'm not so sure he would even make it to our second pick.

Yeah he's a Coach K dude...he doesn't like being blocked and is great at the POA. I don't see some elite edge rusher which kinda stinks but it's tough to get that at the bottom of the 2nd. I think he could become someone like Za'darius Smith.

Wouldn't be upset if he was the pick bottom of the 2nd. I don't really have "a dude" this yr in the draft. There's just a lot of guys I like lol.
