2019 AAC Defensive Player of the Year Let's get this thread going because this dude is a damn good late day-two/maybe early day-three edge rusher. Active, technical hands. Quick eyes; quick processor. One thing that stands about Roche is that he wins in every direction with multiple moves in his toolbox. I've seen a cross chop, I've seen a double swipe, inside counter swim, etc. The obvious weakness I've seen are that he's undersized, not overly strong, not very long and doesn't seem very athletic. He's not the type of athlete that's going to pressure a tackle up the arc with pure athleticism. As a result, he'll struggle to disengage if the tackle lands first and is going to be heavily, heavily reliant on winning with his hands. He's about the same size as Dee Ford, which leads me to a curious point about Saleh: Saleh was extremely forward-thinking when it came to edge rushers. He wanted guys to play using whatever technique they felt most comfortable with. Even tho we play a 4-3 on paper, we've seen multiple edge players rush standing up over the last 4 years under Saleh. Furthermore, Saleh understood that there's a place for every type of edge rusher in today's game. There's no reason to avoid drafting an edge that in the past was classified as a "3-4 OLB"(ex: Dee Ford) just because you play a 4-3 on paper. If you can get after the damn QB, we've got a spot for you on the team. Let's hope that DeMeco Ryans continues this way of thinking. We don't need any dinosaur mentalities on our team. Quincy Roche did well, but he didn't dominate. If you want to domination, go back and watch Aaron Donald's Senior Bowl. I don't think he lost a single rep the entire week--not one. There's a massive difference.

Quincy Roche is 6'2", 243 lbs with 32" arms. Dude has many red flags on his measurables. And I like Quincy. I made the freaken thread. You just gotta be objective and keep it honest.

I see him as a top 75 pick. I wouldn't be shocked if he drops out of the 2nd

Rousseau has huge upside and all the physical tools so he will go in the first round. Phillips, despite his injury history, had a great season and an amazing Pro Day so he shouldn't last past the end of the first round. Roche is the only one that will be available to the Niners and would be a great pickup on day two.

Definitely looking for that Ford replacement. We need that threat and speed of the edge to help our corners. And speed to track down Wilson and Murray.

Almost seems like a void at 43 where the elite guys are gone, and some of the projections have the next group in the 60s and 70s. Could definitely see moving the 43 back a dozen or more spots and looking at Roche or Ronnie Perkins.

Imo, the 3rd round situational rushers to watch are Janarius Robinson (elite length) and Jordan Smith (flashes of elite bend). Cam Sample also really fits what we as a 3rd DE, assuming we don't see too much difference from when Saleh was in charge

Good points about moving down from 43, just looks like the best move but won't know till draft day. A later 2nd and 3rd/4th gets Meinerz , Brevin Jordan, Jevon Holland, Roche, Kelvin Joseph, Kendrick Green, Trill Williams etc the point being I like the fit of a big and diverse group of players later 2nd round to 3rd round than the guys at the top of the 2nd

Can put on 10 lbs or so. But is he just totally getting destroyed by tackles when they get their hands on him?
