2020 East-West Shrine Bowl

One guy I'm curious if we'll take a look at in the later rounds is James Smith-Williams. He struggled through a foot injury this year and didn't produce much, but he fits the profile on athleticism/size (6-3 261, 4.58 forty time with 34-inch arms), and intelligence (he's already completed an internship that would land him a job with IBM whenever he's done playing football) as he was an Academic All-ACC performer. He was apparently impressive this week.

"Smith-Williams has great length as a pass rusher on the edge, and as you'll see (above), he's strong as well. The NC State product had no issues pulling off a bull rush and sending his opponent all the way to the back of the end zone. Smith-Williams has many different pass rushing moves with each being more creative than the next. He's made an impact this week getting to the quarterback."

Another guy worth keeping an eye on. Some good mid to late round edge prospects in this draft that are Wide 9 fits if they are looking for more edge depth and some true pass rush specialists to spell Ford.

Indeed. Taking a look at the "profiles" of some of the players we reportedly met with this week:

Michael Pinckney-LB-Miami, 5-11 234 4.67
Great athlete. Freshman All-American. Productive every year. Set career highs this year with 12.5 TFL, 5 sacks, 3 PBUs. At Miami they don't have team captains per se, but they have "Game Captains" for certain games. Pinckney was named game captain for the FIU game.

Casey Toohill-DE/LB-Stanford, 6-4 246 4.76 (Plus 33 3/4 inch arms)
Again, top notch athletic traits, and extreme smarts. Three-time Pac-12 All-Academic and one of 12 William V. Campbell Trophy finalists as a member of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class.

Rodney Clemons-FS-SMU, 6-0 198 4.52
Another great athlete -- multi-sport athlete at that who also lettered in basketball and track back in high school. Team captain. Proven ability to play both free and strong safety positions.

Projections for the above prospects, at this point, are reportedly in the 5th - 6th round range.

Was watching some film on Western Michigan RB Levante Bellamy and this #15 TE Giovanni Ricci stood out also. They moved him around a lot all over the field, pretty decent route runner, and a pretty good blocker. He can be someone that can play TE and backup Juice in case of an emergency. Just my take.
Really was difficult to tell who was performing all that well in this game (outside of a few players) with no schematics going on. But I thought Runyan did decent. He's not the prospect his dad was, based on pure ability, I'd grade him a fifth rounder. He has talent but doesn't have top notch movement skills and still needs to refine a fair amount of technical things.
