General 2019 NFL Draft Discussion

Dane Brugler's(formerly of CBSSports) latest mock draft, Top 5 picks.

1. Arizona Cardinals: Nick Bosa, EDGE, Ohio State
The Cardinals will certainly be open for business with the top pick and listen to trade offers, presumably from teams looking to jump up for a quarterback. But if the offers aren't substantial and Arizona stays at No. 1, Bosa remains the favorite to be the pick. Aside from Chandler Jones, the Cardinals have struggled to consistently put pressure on the quarterback, something Bosa would help address.

2. San Francisco 49ers: Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama
Ideally, the 49ers will be targeting an edge rusher with this pick, but Williams' ability to create interior disruption will make him tough to pass up. At such a young age, he shows the unique ability to interchangeably use his gifts to defeat blocks and live in the opponent's backfield. With high draft picks, the goal should be to find impact players and Williams is special — the 49ers shouldn't overthink it.

3. New York Jets: Jonah Williams, LT, Alabama After eight straight years of drafting defense in the first round, the Jets found their long-term quarterback (Sam Darnold) last year and now it is time to protect him. Williams doesn't have elite length for the position, but he is technically sound and highly intelligent, consistently creating stalemates with edge rushers. He has the skills to play tackle or guard at a high level.

4. Oakland Raiders: Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky Jon Gruden and new GM Mike Mayock will be searching for pass rush help in the first round and Allen offers intriguing versatility to play with his hand on the ground or drop in space. He earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors with 21.5 tackles for loss, 17.0 sacks and five forced fumbles this season, helping to elevate his draft status into the top 10.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU The Bucs organization, which just hired Bruce Arians as its new head coach, invested in the secondary last season with two cornerbacks drafted in the second round (M.J. Stewart, Carlton Davis), but more help on the cornerback depth chart is needed. Williams has the length, body twitch and play personality to blanket wide receivers up and down the field (not to mention an ideal name for the position).

Doesn't seem like Dane watches too many 49er games. Another DT?

I love QW, but I just don't see it happening.

I think he explained his reasoning pretty well.

It just comes down to how they feel about the other prospects such as Allen.....etc. If there's a huge gap between one prospect and the others, then you go with that guy.
So....looking at a draft value chart, I wouldn't mind a trade down at all. Raiders, Giants, and Jaguars are all potential targets to trade down. I'd be willing to trade the #2 to the Raiders for their #4 and #24(that they're getting from Chicago)....I'd trade the #2 for the Giants #6 or Jags at #7 if they're willing to give up next years 1st or multiple 2nd rd picks. And my outside the box dream deal: Niners trade the #2 to the Giants for the #6 pick and Odell Beckham :)

Make it the Niners 3rd instead of the #36 and you got a deal :) But yeah, I'd do that deal that you proposed in a second.

OBJ is worth the 36, no wr taken at 36 or the whole draft will be the talent he is. You do that deal and run and you still can take a guy like Brian Burns at 6 and with OBJ to go with Kittle I wouldn't be surprised if OBJ leads the league in receiving

You don't offer them a pick. It'd require at least a 2nd and future 1st to go up from 6. Saying Beckham is worth a 1 and 2 2nds? That's awfully expensive.
What if Arizona goes OT Williams number 1 wouldn't surprise there Offensive Line is a Mess they have to protect ROSEN new Offensive minded coach ......NINERS PHONE WOULD BE RINGING LIKE CRAZY......

That's why they will probably be looking to trade down with someone who wants Bosa or Haskin.

I'd give about a 1% chance Arizona selects Jonah Williams number 1 overall. If he's their guy, they will trade down some spots and pick up extra draft picks/players and take him

Yeah, they can trade down some and still get Williams.
There's a chance Jonah Williams would not be there if the Cardinals trade down. Both the Jets and Bucs could use a Tackle.
