Dream scenario...the Niners get the first pick in the draft, the Raiders give up on Carr and trade their pick and the one they got from the Cowboys to move up to get Justin Herbert.

If a stud CB is where we would be picking after trading back, then yes. Otherwise, don't mess around. Take the "sure" thing. There are also plenty of veteran CBs to be had in free agency.

What other CBs are worth a mid first besides Greedy?
As of now I only see Greedy and Baker out of Georgia possibly going top 10, Julian Love ND, Levert Hill UM, Michael Jackson the U are others I like but not top 20 picks IMO yet..
I think Byron Murphy will see his stock rise and he'll be looked at the new CB2 right behind Greedy. Currently I see Greedy going within the first 7-10 picks and I think Byron Murphy might end up in that range as well.

I'd probably take Sweat, honestly. His talent and trajectory are tough to resist. Burns and Ferrell could make me wrong, though...

If Bosa and Greedy are gone, that'll be a buzz kill for sure. It's still early, but those two seem to be the stud players right now.
I love Oliver, but I don't see us going DT again. I wouldn't hate the pick if we signed a CB and DE in FA, but that's a lot of if's that never seem to get solved.

Ferrell or Bosa. If not trade back and grab two EDGE: Montez Sweat and either Brian Burns, Josh Allen, Joe Jackson, or Terrell Lewis.
Pass rush such a glaring weakness on this team....28th in the NFL. Cassius Marsh and Co. really getting it done. lol.

I will probably let Shanahan and Lynch decide.
Just as long as we get some edge rush.

If there was a QB worth a top 5 pick -- I would explore a very small trade back. However, I would not trade back far enough to miss out on the 2nd best pass rusher.
In that scenario, I would explore trading a 2nd or 3rd round pick for a bonafide NFL proven CB.

There are no "sure things" in football.

In that situation, probably Ferrell. Edge eother way. I'd consider Burns and Sweat as well

If we select top 5 we need to go after Jachai Polite.

Generally agree. Can only do this if there is great depth at pass rusher. There is just no way this team can come away from the draft without a guy who can develop into a 15 sacks a year guy.

Lies. The Browns not making the playoffs every year is a "sure thing"
Reuben Foster using an injury TO at this point is basically a "sure thing"

I was referring to a players ability coming out of college. There are no "sure things". The league history is absolutely littered with 1st round busts and late round success stories. Roll the dice and hope it doesn't come up craps.
