We did nothing, but gain picks. SMH to anyone that doesn't see the "A" grade in this trade.

Why are people (radio, etc.) blasting the Bears? This makes no sense.

Let's assume some facts, because we have no evidence that Lynch is a liar.

1. Bears really wanted Trubisky
2. Teams other than the bears wanted our pick

If the Bears think Trubisky is the FQBotF, then they have to move up to get him.

Here's what they paid extra for their right to pick their FQB:

1. A third this year
2. A fourth this year
3. A third next year

That's cheap. This was a win win for both sides.

I still can't believe the value Lynch was able to get out of this trade.

He was basically assured his #1 prospect was still on the board, while gaining multiple mid round picks this draft, and an extra 3rd next year. That 3rd next year will almost assuredly be an early 3rd.

I think that by Lynch proclaiming his desire to trade down so early in the process, he was able to create action on the #2. He created FOLO (fear of losing out) in the Bears, and got them to offer above market value for the pick.

He then takes that added value of extra picks, and uses some of it to move up and land a top 10 talent at the end of round 1. Incredible work.

I am just amazed how fast Lynch has proven himself to be a shrewd, calculating GM. In one day, he has shaped this franchise's future in both the short and long term.

What an amazing start.
