If we stay put at #2, do we strongly consider moving down from #34?

Just depends on who is there at #34 but I'd rather stay put. I have a feeling we turn #34 into a QB somehow rather that's a trade up or straight up pick.

Obviously it does depend who's there in case someone drops who is a perfect fit/best available player situation.

However yes I think so. I think once you get out of the top 10 it's easier to move down/up because you don't have to worry about being killed on trade value. Let's be honest not all drafts are the same but moving from #2 to #8 and only picking up a 2nd rounder when a team moved up to #2 from #6 last year and gave up a haul of draft picks is tough for a new GM to swallow and kind of kills your leverage moving forward.

I also think there will be a lot of quality players ranked close enough with multiple needs for us on the board. From LEO rushers, WRs, possibly QBs, RB, OL, S, CB, SAM or MLB. It could be a situation where we're like a kid in a candy store and you want them all...trading down gives us another pick and helps make the decision a little easier as well if some of those guys you want at #34 go off the board.

Nice post. I just want to address DE,WR,DB,QB,RB,SAM before the end of the fourth. That's why I'm so desperate for another second/third.

Certainly. You would need to know what 1st round talent had slipped before answering this one.

Unless Williams, Davis, Kupp, Zay... I'm not big on any of these WR in the top rankings. I'm sold on sitting and waiting for a potential late round gem: Krishawn Hogan

I think we are more likely to move up into the late first than back out of the 2nd

That's what I was originally thinking...But if we stay put at #2 and targeting a handful of players in the second,why not trade down and get a third. People love trading up to the top of the second round.. we can probably move down 5 spots and get a fourth

I think today we need more impact players/starters than projects. That pick in the second is prime to pick up someone who's projected with first round talent but fell or with a 4th round pick move back into the first for a guy Kyle really wants.

Yeah hard to argue...like I mentioned I'm still VERY open to that bandwagon. But say that player or two are gone. Someone could be calling with a nice offer. I want 6 picks in the first four rounds, but don't get it effed up I understand we need impact players,talented players with coaching can hopefully turn into impact players. Sooner rather than later.

Best player available imo, we need everything so the list is pretty much useless for us. We are starting from scratch with many holes. A trade down would be wise in this draft, try to plug as many holes as you can. With the #2 overall, I want as many picks from the top 50 as we can snatch.

I agree with you, BPA targeting those positions is what I'm doing. Those are my quick projections of where I think they should choose the guys based on the draft.

I think Lynch will have better options for true impact players if he trades down from #2...and more of them. He won't get the value trading down from #34 that he would from #2. For example...if the Browns decided to trade with the Niners, Lynch would want their #12, #33 (plus). It'd give Cleveland picks 1 & 2, so they could arguably get Garrett and Trubisky or whatever QB they want to start the draft. They have plenty of picks to work with. Lynch would end up drafting at #12 & the first 2 picks in the 2nd rd...which could be huge in terms of getting some elite talent. I'd say Carolina and the Jets may also make offers. Whichever team JL ends up trading with he'll get more bang for his buck moving down from #2.
