This. He's athletically elite for the position, but his instincts are overrated. And, more importantly, he lacks the intelligence and intangibles to be a leader of your defense. Might even become a locker-room distraction. He's talented enough that he will undoubtedly be a productive football player, but not a guy I would ever consider spending a top-10 pick on, not when there are stud defenders like Thomas, Allen, Adams, Hooker, and Lattimore on the board. Personally, I'd reach for an overachiever like Barnett way before I'd consider Foster.
