IMO, the front of this draft is so stacked, you could argue that the Top 15 could be Top 7 in a lot of other drafts. Garrett is the only guy head and shoulders above the rest. I'm trading back into the Top 15 for extra picks and still possibly get a great prospect.

Nice thread...thought about this in the shower yesterday... only i did a top 3.

1) Fournette - If he is on the board, which he will be, it's going to be hard not to take someone of his calibur. Not considering needs or scheme, he is scary addition to our offense
2) Foster - Without Off field troubles / concerns, i think we can build a solid Defense around this kid. Run D will be a lot better.
3) Williams- Best WR in class
4) Lattimore - Him and Rashard Robinson as our starting CBs instantly gives us a better defense
5) Garrett
6) Allen
7)Watson
8) Tribs

9) Thomas
10) Hooker

8. Foster - heir apparent to Bowman. Our LB crew was decimated last year. Bringing in the best LB of the draft class sets us up for the long term.
9. Allen - best player in college last year, against top competition. But not a position of huge need, as two first round picks have been made at his same position the last 2 years.
10. Thomas - Allen - was really good in college last year, against good competition. But not a position of huge need, as two first round picks have been made at his same position the last 2 years.

I definitely like this line of thinking but I think Reddick is the best LB in this draft

Unless we get a high 2nd round pick this year or a 1st next year in a trade, I'm not interested.

While I agree with you on this, the Jets have put up the #6 pick up to trade down and have had no takers, for all you know Lynch has shopped the number 2 pick and has no takers. Why would someone else want the number 2 pick when the talent is so flat?? there is no franchise qb.....

High draft picks dont get traded til draft day or when that pick is on tha clock ...so we really dont know what will happen til our pick...

In what universe do you live. When walsh traded the number 3 pick to washington for two low first rounders it happened at the combine. Last year the pick 1 and pick 2 where traded for well before the draft. Outside of the Julio Jones trade many years ago I cannot think of a draft day trade that involved a top pick going while they were on the clock

Rivers and Eli draft is the other one I can think of.

we need someone who can play in our scheme and someone who is utilized.. Tom Brady was not a number 1 pick either.. but on any other team without Belichick he wouldnt be the same. Do we need another DL? not.. can we get the top corner and solidify that position for 5-6 years to come.. why not?

Saying "trade down" is very easy. But the rumour is, we aren't going to get much value for it. So, all you traders, what is the least you would take for our #2?

I'd be happier with any of the guys 2-10 and a 2nd round pick than Solomon Thomas so I'm a big fan of trading down even if we don't get the arbitrary number of points back.

I'm also a fan of trading up for Garrett even if it costs us a 2nd round pick. I'd take Garrett over Thomas and whoever is available in the 2nd round.

If we trade up for Garrett we don't have a 2nd

I know - I said I'd take Garrett over any two players we could get at #2 and #34.

This year, I think there's a bigger gap between #1 and #2 than #2 and #10. I'd happily trade down to #10 for a 2nd round pick, but I'd also happily move up to #1 giving up our higher 2nd round pick. Garrett is by far the BPA and could be a dominant LEO. Thomas is a great player but his best fit isn't LEO which is our biggest need. He'd still be the guy I'd pick at 2 if we're stuck with the pick.

If we're trading back to 10-12, I'd have to get a 2nd round pick in return. Trading back a few spots and still being able to get Thomas/Lattimore/Hooker/Adams, I'd have to get a 3rd round pick in return. I don't care at all what the trade value chart says - we'd be adding more value to the team making those trades.
