With our entire safety group looking like ass, keep an eye on Justin Evans.

No trading back!
Niners have a s**t ton of cap room. Get those non-star players in FA.

I'm down with this. The Niners could have around $100 million in cap space to spend, and that is plenty to get solid veteran role players on both sides of the ball. Draft for impact and pay for the rest.

Why? Dude was a Jim Thorpe finalist at safety...new coaching staff (fingers crossed) might actually do something right and put him at his original position.
This draft is chalk full of CBs and there are some solid options in FA. One kid I like at safety if we wanted to go to the well yet again is budda baker.
Rather grab a CB though.

In their minds he's a CB. I don't think they move him back.

Unless we get a coach who chooses to play players by their strength.

This. If we pass on Myles Garrett or if he isn't available, I think we should take someone in the second round. Or package something with our second and move up into the first. then package the third and move up into the second for a receiver. I am really only interested in us drafting impact players and bringing in guys with playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. With our 9 to 10 picks, I'm hoping for us to maneuver as much as necessary to come out with a QB, OLB, WR, ILB, and RB. This will not immediately make us a winning team, but it will fill gaping holes at very important positions. Plus, this is a 1-2 offseason process.
Getting a quarterback that could be consistently accurate alone would do wonders for this offense. Throw in a starting receiver that can run multiple routes and now we are in business. A pass rusher on the other side of Aaron Lynch helps EVERYONE on defense. It helps our D-line (we have a good one in Buckner), it helps Lynch, and helps the secondary. A complementary running back that can average 4 yards a carry or better would be nice. And the inside linebacker pick is obvious with our porous run defense. I am all for a Chris Borland type- great tackler, great in run defense.

I agree.
Quality > Quantity.
I'm tired of trading down and getting no where but then again Trent is our GM.. If the impact players are there, trade up.
Let's not talk about Amari and Bechem.... Let's actually do what we have to do to get them.
That decision might require the GM having coconuts..

It's possible, but he's been playing well at CB considering we have no pass rush.
If I'm betting money Kelly returns and Ward is still at CB next year.

I was one for keeping Ward at CB... But with the S position looking shaky at the momemt, I just dunno. Can always sign a CB...
