That's not a good strategy. If the Vikings thought like that, they never would've drafted Randy Moss. If a talent like OJ Howard is there, you gotta consider him & use 2-TE sets. In fact, OJ can split out wide in a lot of formations. He's EXTREMELY fast for his size.

Same thing, to a lesser extent, w/ Bucky Hodges. And both have toughness that will help in the run game.

How often does Chip use two TE sets? I agree this draft is deep at TE and I think there are some good prospects later if we feel the need to go that route (plus IMO the TE spot takes a while to transition in the NFL) I like Sprinkle in like the 4th.

With almost $9 million invested in the TE position I think we can forgo drafting anyone.

I agree! This team needs playmakers. If a guy like Howard is there, you need to strongly consider the move.
Doesn't the lack of talent and playmakers on this team, make a BPA draft more obvious. The niners are a couple of years away and need players EVERYWHERE! I am all for the best player in the 2nd and 3rd, no matter where they play

Now, to find a guy that can actually identify them!

Amen to that!

Corey Davis or Takkarist McKinley in the 2nd, unfortunately I think both will go quite a bit earlier.

According to the latest rankings, that is correct. Both are listed in the top 20 as prospects. They should be long gone by the second.

The next logical choices would be Dede Westbrook at WR and Tim Andersen at OLB in the early 2nd.

What rankings are you checking out? I like CBS don't really know of any others that are constantly updating....but yeah currently Davis is the 22nd overall prospect, but McKinley is 31st.

Williams is 17th overall and Westbrook ( who I think would kill it in Chip's offense) is 40th.
1.Corey Davis
2.[i]Ilb McMillan(OSU) or Beckwith(LSU)
I do like Florida Ilb also
Corey Davis. Any of those 1st rounders will work in the third except Webb. Carl Lawson or Chubb would be my choice
Dede Westbrook or Deshaun Watson in the 2nd

Nelson in the 2nd would be a dream but I can't see him falling. Best guard in the last 3 drafts. Watson in the 2nd would be a dream also.

Vita Vea or Eddie Vanderose would solve a lot of problems in our front 7.

Use our 2nd+4th+6th to move up and secure Corey Davis. He won't last until the second.

As for our third-round pick, if don't get myles garrett, I want a guy I haven't seen a single person on the webzone mention: Joe Mathis. Has prototypical 3-4 OLB size. I think he's one of the best edge rushers in the draft. A very talented player that could slip in the draft due to his time off from a foot injury and a deep draft. The guy is a savage on the field. Relentless He can win with power or speed, and his motor runs hot.

Lol

Thanks for mentioning I'll look into him. Love me some olb's
Garrett in the 1st. Trade up from the 2nd and take Watson.

I dont think I will care all that much if we got those two!!! After a couple of big signings in FA like maybe a NT, then we just use the other picks to fill the gaps. WR, ILB, Center, and so on.
