Another kid to keep and eye on is Harold Landry

Landry looked good, productive. That one INT he got in the bowl game was pretty amazing.

Garrett is the crown jewel in this draft BUT there are a ton of really good pass rushers in this draft.

Agreed. But with the new quick pass happy offense people are running you need 2-3 good press corners to make the QB hold the ball for that extra .5 seconds. We have Robinson and Ward just need one more with hopefully Garrett and this D could really start taking steps.

Yup dude will be a prefect slot corner we do need another outside guy...Ward would be the ideal FS imo

Yeah Garrett is by far the best player and pass rusher in this draft but this kid Derek Barnett is looking very intriguing, is he the next best after Garrett..?

Barnett would be the landslide #1 overall pick if he was longer. He is great in every other phase of the game. But he's not, so he'll be a top 10 pick

He'll likely be the second pass rusher off the board though I see him as a better fit in a 4-3. If the 49ers were to switch to a 4-3 I'd be perfectly happy with them going after Barnett if Garrett is gone. Barnett is another gameplan wrecker, each time I've watched him he's found ways to alter what the opposing team is doing, either they run the ball away from or him he just keeps abusing tackles and forcing them to double or even triple him up.

He's got Bowman-like leadership and just eclipsed Reggie White's career sack record. I don't think he'll go under the radar for draft purposes. BUT I see your point. I think he could be a guy you look back at in 2019 as the best defensive player in the 2017 draft.

We really need one of these guys. Several second tier QBs out there we can grab in round 2 or maybe even 3.
