No, we shouldn't tank (and we don't have to).
Yes, I'm rooting for us to lose every game on our schedule. We still may not beat the Browns for the top pick.
You are rooting for your team to lose? Sad.
I can't believe you're a mod reading some of your comments.
46% of respondees said they're rooting for their team to "Tank" which is even worse. Like me, I imagine some people who are rooting for a high draft pick answered "No" to this poll because they don't want the players to lose on purpose.
Most of us are probably rooting for the team to lose which is telling of how bad the QB situation is right now.
Comments like wanting my team to win?
You can state your view without putting down someone else's view (and approximately half of the webzone wants us to lose). If you can't tell the difference, maybe you shouldn't be a mod.
I find it a little bizarre how certain members get their jimmies rustled when anyone says they're rooting for the 49ers to lose games. I think a lot of people on here aren't willing to admit they're rooting for the team to lose, because they'll just get attacked even though it's a perfectly reasonable (and common) view.

I rooted against the Warriors, for a different reason, to put pressure on Cohan
If you don't think ownership sets the tone for the organization you're missing something.

We don't have to. We will get the 1st draft pick at the rate we are going.

Unless we're purposely going to throw games or bench our best players, there is no such thing as tanking.
As others have already stated, there is no need to. We're a bad team, the losses will come. It's important to play their best and develop the young talent. The draft position will work itself out.

Lol like we have the ability to get out of the top 5? That's just cooky talk. But who knows? Maybe kaepernick has been super focused on getting back in football shape and studying the game up until now? Maybe he's going to turn this thing around? He's had a year and a half to study film and get better mentally, I hope he has been and hasn't been distracted by anything else, we do pay him well to do this job.

This discussion came up a couple years ago. I was all for it but now I'm of a different opinion.
You can't tank a season on purpose. This not only sets a dangerous precedent. It changes the dynamics of the entire keafue and us unprofessional. You take the good with the bad, even if the bad last for seasons upon seasons.
We'll get out of this slump and be the better for it by not tanking.

OK this is my last comment on this.
I would be interested to hear how me stating that I think it is sad that a supporter wants the team to lose is putting down someone else's view? I did state my view, I want my team to win and I think it is sad that other supporters don't. I don't know why you have a problem with this and I have no idea why you think it justifies making an attack on me being a mod. Twice.
On that subject, to be clear, a moderator is appointed by the mod team with the approval of Webbie. I really don't care what your views are, it isn't up to you. When Webbie and/or the other mods want me to leave, doubtless they will tell me.

I'm with English on this - it's sad that peeps would even consider the proposal.
Consider the ramifications of being known to tank for draft spots.
Any of the good/best players heading into FA will be outta town in a flash - they play to win not lose (unless the price is right I suppose).
You simply won't have enough picks to fill the new holes, and only the poor/unemployable FAs will sign up to plug the gaps (paycheck is a paycheck after all).
Besides, not all the great players are found high in draft - it just takes someone to see them.

It looks like they're in tank mode because the defense isn't even TRYING to tackle.

I initially said, yes, I would like to tank. Now i change my mind. Even if we get a francise player, we still have a losing CULTURE. Look at Notre Dame. They're having a losing season despite having the #1 draft pick at the helm. A high draft pick doesn't guarantee success but this culture needs to change NOW.

Yes! Who is the most over rated defender in next years draft? And how is his ACL?
