Why would the Patriots trade Garappolo? They know Brady will have to retire sometime.

I'm not down with cutting Brooks. One of the very few bright spots this year

Brady said he wants to play 4 more years. So either they trade Brady, or hope Jimmy doesn't want to be a starter and collect a big check somewhere else. But I can see the Patriots Joe Montanaing Tom Brady which would be pretty fitting

I don't get the obsession with Michael Floyd. Living out here in Phoenix I've gotten to see him play a lot and I hear a lot about what people say about him. I don't believe there is any way that he'll be worth the money. He has a tendency to simply vanish during games, makes some bad decisions when it comes to running routes, doesn't always run them with precision, makes some spectacular catches but then drops some real easy throws. He's been the beneficiary of a pass happy offense but I don't even see him in the same class as Crabtree as a WR. He's easily one of the most overrated WR's in the NFL.
Alshon Jeffery should be the 49ers priority A, B and C if he does hit free agency, he's the only credible #1 caliber WR that they might have a shot at outside of drafting one.

I would love to get Jefferies. I'm not the "Yorks are too cheap to pay him" type. But Baalke does not over pay a position and if Jefferies hits FA he's gonna get some stupid money thrown at him. We will see though fingers crossed.

If there's a guy worth splurging on in FA it would be him.

True and as soon as I pressed post I realized he did throw a good amount of money at Torrey Smith. And the would make a good combo for hopefully a new QB to have fun with.

I'm in the same court about pursuing Jeffrey. While Baalke has been pretty thrifty, I do feel like he earmarks money for premium positions (i.e. WR, Edge Rusher, QB, etc.)
I'd much rather spend the $$$ and get a big piece like AJ, vs. spread it around on mediocre talent that may not start over a rookie. I feel like we're ok as far as depth, but we're lacking difference makers at key positions.

I have a feeling Trent will not be here to make those decisions next year.Originally posted by Hysterikal:Originally posted by Phoenix49ers:I don't get the obsession with Michael Floyd. I do. He will just say new coach and we don't have a QB and Jed will give him another year for his "3 year plan"

If we fail to get to last year's win total Jed will be facing so much heat that he will have no other option but to fire Baalke.
