This mock does not include any trades and is based on the assumption that Kaepernick is on the team. **Also, I fashioned it through a Baalke perspective. Trying to make it as realistic as possible. Round 1 Shaq Lawson - DE/OLB - Clemson He can play standing up. You can put him at end opposite of Armstead and also has the stout and power to plug at nose occasionally if need be. Just a terrific chess piece to move around in our young defense. " Very powerful at the point of attack. Able to punch, extend arms and control the line of scrimmage or set a hard edge. Able to shock and shed blockers and has the hand quickness to staggered block attempts....Comes off ball low and with forward lean into his rush. Has frame to handle a double team. Has plus instincts and feel for the game. Toughness in full display." Round 2 Joshua Garnett - OG - Stanford "Team captain. Very good hand placement, upper body strength and hip torque to steer and turn opponent on hook blocks. Generates good power from legs and hips....hick, powerful guard who can gain an early advantage in the rep and finish with authority. Garnett looks to establish a new line of scrimmage on every running play and is a great fit for a team looking to impose their will between the tackles." Hhmmm Lawson maybe on a trade back IMO ...Just wonderin how u see tha first 6 picks goin and if Buckner is off tha board??? Lawson over Buckner ???

Yeah, yeah this is with Buckner off the board. This is with Tunsil, Wentz, Ramsey, Bosa, Jack, Buckner off the board. In that order.

But not Goff? Goff is still on the board and we pick Lawson...

This is on the basis that we keep Kap. I think it would just be a circus/controversy if we take a qb that high with Kap still on the roster. I suppose you could always trade him afterwards.. but at that point you have no leverage and will probably be giving him away.

If we trade Kap then I'm all for grabbing a QB in the first round. Of course granted Goff or Wentz is available.

I think that if Kap and Chip hit it off and he stays then Trent will go defense w the 1st pick.

And it's not such a bad idea. The Kap Kelly could prove to be a good marriage..you could always take a qb later or next year.. let's not act like Goff is the hottest qb prospect in recent years either. What if we have the chance at a Watson next season?

Lawson at 7 is the worst pick that can happen for me. I like Dodd more than him and am willing to bet he's the better pro player

And no I wouldn't take Dodd at 7. Goff would be the pick in your scenario. This fo is already a circus, Gabbert is a FA next year, and if Kap does do well and hit it off with Kelly then that makes his trade value higher for next year while we develop Goff this year. I've seen Phoenix mention that having Kap on the roster will not alter us from taking a QB early (if Kelly wants him) I agree with that

That's what I'm saying.. if it doesn't work out we can take a qb next year.. we don't have to necessarily take one this year.

Hey listen, I like Goff..I would take goff but when I consider how Baalkes drafted.. my gut tells me he would draft defense...I have a gut feeling the pick will be Lawson or Hargraves..that's just what my gut is. Putting aside my own personal preferences.

Well I think we have to brace ourselves to the idea that Buckner and Bosa, Jack, will not be there at 7.

Everyone is screaming for Goff which tells me he won't be the pick. Baalke has never pleased the masses with his 1st round pick.. not to say that he pays attention to what the fans want haha, just that it's never turned out that way.

And at that point who do you take? I can see him going hargraves.. but pass rush is a bigger need. And Lawson is unique in that he's just as good against the run as he is against the pass.. its not so crazy he goes at 7.

Hes been mocked going as high to us by Bucky Brooks.. also to the bucs at 9.. so it's one of the more realistic possibilities in my eyes.. at least I'm bracing myself for it.
