2016 NFL Scouting Combine Thread

I need to look closer at Ramsey. No one doubted him as an elite athlete. He's the best safety to come out in a while, but what is he as a CB. There seems to be doubts about him as a shutdown corner.

For a team that needs a safety, he's a no-brainer. We're just not one of those teams. That's probably our deepest position. I just hope someone grabs him before we pick.

Like I sad though, I need to watch a couple of his games. The thought of adding another safety makes me cringe though. A DB just doesn't appeal to me. I really want to see us rectify the front 7. DBs are a product the pass rush.

Agree with all of this although I think he is a very good corner. I just hope someone takes him before us as well.

I think he projects as a prototypical FS and can drop in and play the slot in nickel and dime. He is the best player in this draft and if he somehow fell to 7 (shouldn't happen but hey Revis fell out of the top ten) you take him and figure it out later.

We aren't stacked at safety. Reid is not the player that 49er fans think he is. Bethea is a quality player but his shelf life is 1-2 years and many people see us waiving him. Ward is our slot CB and Tartt is sort of the "new wave" SS - more coverage skills than thumper but a thumper nonetheless. He is our Chancellor.

Bottom line Ramsey would immediately be the best player in our secondary.

Billings is still very impressive.
First impression of Bosa is still the same, comes off very robotic.
Day is very athletic.
Bullard looks the part.

Bullard is going to be a stud. He is projected as a better 4-3 DT and be that as it may, if we traded back and the guy we wanted ended up not being there, I would have absolutely zero issue with us taking Bullard to play DE. He is pure disruptor and lives in the backfield. He is very versatile and would be a better version of Ray McDonald and I'd be all for that.

With that said, I think Butler should be the pick in that above scenario as he is more suited to play DE in a 3-4 right now but if it was Bullard, I'm ok with it

He would certainly be the most talented in the secondary but it wouldn't matter with an anemic pass rush in front of him. NFL QBs will feast without pressure in their face. If we still had a clean Aldon, I'd be all for Ramsey but we don't. A better pass rush will make our current back end look much better

Nkemdiche really is a head scratcher. Seeing him run and jump his athletic ability is top notch. Would love to go YOLO and take him if Buckner is gone but it's too big a risk.

Id like to trade back and pick up another second and snag nkemdechi in the first. Doctson with our second and bpa with the other second

I'm still seeing the Niners taking Treadwell in quite a few mocks. I didn't mind him going in the top8-9 but after the combine he is one who's stock has fallen a bit. He didn't run the 40 but he just didn't stand out to me. I will be paying close attention to his ProDay but until then he's out of my mock 10 picks. I don't see him getting by the Rams however.

Lawson is stiff but could work if he keeps the weight low
Ogbah shouldn't be that athletic for his size
Oakman runs like Goofy
Reader needs to be a target
Spence isnt worth the pick at 7...his pro day will be big
Zettel didn't look bad in the OLB drills. Don't think he can play there, but he's athletic for a late round DE, needs to put on 10-15lbs of muscle.

Ngakoue and Ogbah really upped their stock IMO, Alex McCalister too. I'd be on board with trading back to get Ogbah if our first few targets are off of the board. And even if we get Ogbah (or Spence or Floyd), I'd still want to add either Ngakoue or McCalister later on.

I would love to come away with two additional pass rushers PLUS significant Dline upgrades in this draft and we are in position to do.
