USA Today, Nate Davis, March 24, Jared Goff, QB, California

He makes good decisions, has quick feet, gets rid of the ball quickly and accurately, all traits that could make him highly effective in Chip Kelly's offense – provided his 6-4, 215-pound frame can withstand the punishment that's often a byproduct of this scheme.

RotoWorld, Josh Norris, March 16, Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

The remainder of free agency and trades will dictate which teams still have quarterback needs, and as of now more teams need quarterbacks than passers available. I can see why people really like Wentz. He presents all of the buzzwords at the position and I love that he's willing to test single coverage downfield to allow his receiver to win one on one. However, I cannot look past his tendency to freeze, hitting pause in the pocket. I don't think "mobile" is necessary for the offense Chip Kelly wants to deploy, but the lack of a QB threat did impact the team's running game on "read" actions. Wentz offers that mobility.

CBS, Jared Dubin, March 31, Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

Not the best prospect available, but it's still hard to believe Chip Kelly will be comfortable rolling with Colin Kaepernick at his QB.

Honestly... this is a Baalke pick if I've ever seen one!

Plus Goff and Buckner are on the board too

Baalke likes length that's something that Lawson lacks ( less than 33 inches)...in a trade down sure 7th overall pick with Goff and Buckner on the board
Walter Football, Walter Cherepinsky, Apri l15, Joey Bosa, DE/OLB, Ohio State

The top signal-callers are off the board, and Paxton Lynch doesn't fit what Chip Kelly looks for in a quarterback, so the 49ers will have to look elsewhere. Kelly will like Joey Bosa's athleticism and length, so the Ohio State product could be the pick at this juncture. Bosa fills a need, as San Francisco could use a better edge rusher across from Aaron Lynch.

San Diego Tribune, Eddie Brown, April 14, Jared Goff, QB, California

If the Browns take Goff, the Niners will look to trade down with Jack and Ramsey off the board. The last time they had an opportunity to draft a Cal QB (Aaron Rodgers) who grew up a Niners fan, they passed. Goff has his flaws, but he's an effective downfield passer who has performed well under pressure, especially against the blitz. His accuracy and anticipation will fit perfectly in Kelly's scheme. Top needs: QB, ILB, CB, OL, WR

CBS, Rob Rang, April 17, DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon

Rather than reach for the next quarterback, the 49ers could opt to rebuild their once proud defense, pairing Buckner with Chip Kelly and his former Oregon teammate Arik Armstead, San Francisco's top pick a year ago. At 6-7, 290 pounds, Buckner is an ideal five-technique defensive end for San Francisco's scheme.

CBS, Dane Brugler, April 17, Myles Jack, LB, UCLA

Myles Jack, LB, UCLA: There are several teams who will not consider Jack in the first round due to his knee injury, but there are also teams who see the linebacker as worth the risk. And San Francisco might be one of those teams.

Press Democrat, Grant Cohn, April 17, Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia (from TENN via L.A.)

This time last year, the Niners thought they had two good, young pass rushers—Aaron Lynch and Aldon Smith. Then, on August 7, Smith got arrested for hit and run, DUI and vandalism, and the 49ers cut him shortly after.

Now, the Niners need to replace him. Head coach Chip Kelly seems to likes edge-rushers who are tall and fast, like Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin, or Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan, whom Kelly coached at the University of Oregon.

Floyd is 6-6, and he ran a 4.6 at the Combine. He fits Kelly's mold, and could play right away in the 49ers' sub-packages. He may need to add weight before he can play in the 49ers' base defense, though.

NFL.com, Charley Casserly, April 15, Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

Tough choice with DeForest Buckner (DE) on the board, but OT is a greater need.

Even though this is Grant Cohn we're talking about here, this pick is intriguing and works feel very similar to the Aldon pick for our fanbase.

It would be even more ideal in a trade back.

No, not a tough choice. If Buckner is there, you take him. If not, then Stanley is a smart, safe pick.
