Like the focus on the OL. Would love to see some names in the Free Agents section.

Thanks! I started to research FAs but several sites suggested many of the top FAs would be franchised...kind of stopped my momentum!

With Brown's performance yesterday and with Davis returning next year, we're good at RT. I'd swap that 2nd rounder for an OLB. We need some pass rushers desperately and there are some available in the 2nd-3rd rounds
I love Jaylon Smith and IMO he's a top-3 prospect in this draft but I really like Hodges and we have many holes so I think we should go another direction. Jared Goff, Paxton Lynch, Laremy Tunsil, Joey Bosa, DeForest Buckner, Emmanuel Ogbah and Roonie Stanley would all be good value picks IMO.

Hodges is playing inside, while my projection is outside for Smith, but all those guys you mention are great players. It seems Bosa and Tunsil will be gone by #6 however...if that;s the niners spot.

I like Brown but don't want to count on Davis. If they can trade his rights to move up in the draft then they will need another tackle. Staley's getting older as well and they should be ready when he retires.

You want Smith as a OLB no way man he's a ILB for us (and would be a good one). Baalke likes big OLB like Lynch and Smith. we already have a smaller quick off the edge OLB in Eli.

If you want to go OLB earlier I like Ogbah (trade down situation).

I think you took a QB a bit too late and if they're passing on QB's early then I would expect them to draft two QB's.

Why do people keep trying to look for a replacement for Staley? He's 31 which isn't old for a tackle IMO. some of the top tackles in the league are the same age or older.

According to PFF he's the 9th overall tackle and is the 15th highest paid LT in the NFL. He's signed thrugh 2019 and hasn't been injury prone. He's not retiring anytime soon man.

IF there's one position we don't have to worry about it's LT.

Yes, I kept looking at ways to justify Goff or Lynch falling to #6 but couldn't figure out how that would happen. I could see a trade up. After the first round I couldn't find a guy until late midrounds and didn't really like them. So my thinking is that they will go with a veteran backup, trade up for Goff or Lynch, or keep Kaepernick. I didn't want to start projecting trades but that would be one option if they like either guy as a franchise QB.

Smith is listed as an OLB on CBS' prospect list so I stayed with that thinking. He's athletic and versatile enough to play either, but the niners need speed and strength on the edge.

Staley is the only solid OL on the team currently. Kilgore would be if he'd stayed healthy. If he goes down they desperately need someone to step in on the left side. Boone has been the insurance for years, but they can't afford to monkey around with the OL again. If you want to rely on Staley, Brown and Davis that's fine but I'd prefer to have both tackle spots solid with a very solid backup. I don't trust Davis, Brown has played minimally, and Staley has a history of back issues.

Smith is an athlete...perhaps the best available. Whether he plays OLB or ILB he would immediately compete for a starting spot based on his power and speed. He isn't small, at 6-4 and 240 but would need to add five to ten pounds to play OLB for the niners. His strength is one factor that lessens weight concerns for me. Fred Dean wasn't a very big guy but he could bench press OTs.

Nice Mock...it would be nice if we could get Jaylon Smith.

Really like the draft.

IMO, Tunsil would be superb if available. It would be a VERY tough call w/Smith and Tunsil. Both are absolute winners!

You hit the nail on the head w/Staley and I don't trust AD as far as I can throw him.

I think we could move Staley back to RT where he'd be able to play longer and give time to develop Trent Brown.

Also Blake Martinez would be an excellent pick up - I think the guy will be an excellent NFL player for years to come.

Thanks!
I'm not likely going to know too much about specific prospects that don't play for Miss State and LSU this season.

Still, I can say I like your attention to the OL and pass rusher early. I also worry about our QB situation from this. Yes, they HAVE to rework Kaep's contract if he is to stay.. but I am just as content watching him leave. I just don't think he will ever become more than a flash or fail, love or hate QB at this point.

Good effort put into this.
