Do we keep our top pick or trade down?

Do we keep our top pick or trade down?

It depends who's there if Jaylon or Tunsil was there I say keep it otherwise I wouldn't mind trading back
Considering Top 5, I see these guys as the guys I would want the most.

Joey Bosa
Robert Nkemdiche
Jaylon Smith
Laremy Tunsil
Ronnie Stanley

So if we're top 5, then we take whoever is left of these guys, I think all 5 are All Pro's in the NFL.

If we trade down, then these are who I would look at, of course I wouldn't go beyond pick 10 if trading down.

Laquon Treadwell
Vernon Hargreaves III
Jalen Ramsey
Tyler Boyd
Jared Goff

If we are in the top 5, the only way I even entertain a trade down is if someone offers us an RG3 type of trade. We essentially keep a top 10 pick, and have extra first rounders for the next two seasons. There may have been some other picks involved in that trade, but I would want some serious draft capital to trade out of missing on those top 5 guys. One of the things I worried about during our run from 2011-2013 was that we would never have a shot at the elite talent for a few years because we were drafting at the end of the first. Aside from the home run drafts Baalke put together in 2010 and 2011, our team was built off of guys that were mostly taken near the top of their respective round or from trades into the first when tremendous value presented itself (Joe Staley).
If' we are one the first five to pick then I guess TD takes a shot at a blue chip player..if we in the 5-10 range TD trades back for a next year 1st and some assorted other picks, and still, finally selects a player none of us want or can figure out why he would take...I am getting a bit pessimistic as to our draft scouts/staff and overall drafting ability.
Statistical analysis shows that you get much better bang for your draft dollar later in the first round through to the middle of the third. It's fairly significant difference as well. So, absolutely trade back the to second half of round one, and add a second, third, and possibly a pick from next year's draft.
Keep it. This team needs stars. Depth won't help this team. They don't even have front line stars.

Link?

That may have been true when high first rounders were getting absurd deals, but I find it hard to believe now.

In relation to the current draft value chart, which is what most trades are based on. If you traded #10 for instance, for #20, #52, and #84, which is close value wise to the chart I think, you'd have much better chance of success taking the later picks. Of course there has to be a team willing to give three picks for one. Even if they offer less than chart value, it's a good deal, but it would depend on how much less. Most GMs won't go too far below draft chart value in a trade, and if they think the other team is desperate they ask for more.
Trade back a little, get some picks and draft OLinemen pleasssssssseeeeee
I want Baalke drafting as high as possible. I'm not sold on him quantity > quality.

I really want to look in to Vernon Hargreaves more. A trade down from 5 to lets say 9 and getting a #1 CB with some nice picks could be a good option especially if we can get help with a pass rusher.
If Bosa, Tunsil, Smith and Goff are gone I'd like to trade down and pick Ogbah, Buckner, Decker or Doctson.
Nobody mentioning Paxton Lynch?

IMO Goff is a better prospect with higher floor and ceiling. And Lynch is probably going to be a Brown anyway.
