Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - Legit alternative to Jared Goff in 2017?

Isn't that on the coaches just as much as the players? Seems like Clemson is winning with overall talent more than strategy and coaching.

Another example why it isn't unreasonable to expect more consistency out of Watson. Compared to the other top draft eligible QB's such as Kizer, Kelly, Trubisky, Falk and Mahomes, he's playing with a lot more talent around him. Mike Williams, Jordan Leggett, Wayne Gallman, Artavis Scott, Hunter Renfrow, thats a nice collection of playmakers all around him.

Mitch is well on his way to be a top 10-15 pick no way we can land both

If we draft at 2nd overall, our 2nd and 3rd round pick would get us a first in the teens.

The point is that he keeps repeating his mistakes. If you see a particular kind of coverage, get fooled by it and throw a pick, you figure out why it happened, you don't repeat it all over again the following week. You don't force the ball to targets that are covered. I want to see a QB operating methodically, not by the seat of their pants. Operating methodically is what helps you win games in the NFL, taking what the defense gives you.
Did you even watch the video I provided from last night? It is filled with methodical play and NFL throws.

Newsflash....Joe Montana and Steve Young occasionally made mistakes. That's part of being a QB, but it's about how often you make those mistakes vs making good plays and your ability to overcome them.

Like I said this kid turns the ball over way too much for my liking. With only 300 attempts he's been picked off 10 times, that is a lot and will definitely be looked at as a red flag by scouts and GM's. I'd be very wary about picking him in the top 10.

Yes the great ones made mistakes, but they're in an offense that ask them to do a lot more than just go to your first read.

I literally linked a video from last night that demonstrates him going to secondary reads, manipulating coverage, climbing the pocket, and diagnosing blitzes. If you are only going to grade him on the few mistakes while being unwilling to praise his good plays, then just stop coming in the thread.

Btw, three of his INTs this year were on the receiver, but don't let that get in the way of your skewed narrative.

I agree there more to being a good NFL QB than winning college games but Young was never as good a passer as Watson is.
I honestly believe ther are four quarterbacks that could be special if put in the right situations. Watson, Kizer, Trubisky, and Chad Kelly. many may not agree with Kelly but he has the chance tIo be special, week in and week out hes playing against nfl talent in the SEC. I think we should take Garrett first and find a way to get one of the four. it'd be nice to have a player of Myles Garretts caliber and still get our qb of the future.
Call me a biggot, call me NFL QB racist. But I want no part in a African American QB. As much as I have tried and tried to look away from the stigmata but on the it's so fuking true I can't stand it. Before you throw the midge in my face I'm pretty sure he is half a black guy,. Like Kraep.. Look at Yyrod Taylor look at Scam Newton. The don't win. The Panthers D got them to the SB last year. Watson is Tyrod Taylor.. Would you draft him (Taylor) in the Top 5? Hell no.. It was cool little ploy by American TV but black guys need to run and catch and tackle.. That's it

young still won games in the NFL 30-17 as a starter anyway...I think he was a bit of a headcase.
But wait... We had Doug Williams... Who had Timmy Smith who ran for a then super bowl record that game..
