JackLegNiner Mock Draft...

Dammmmn. I may be a "bit" biased here but this is awesome. LOL

I love your rationale for Mauldin too. Well done. And you are right about Davis...he can stack on a few more pounds and light it up at NT or stay where he is and push at DE big time. Also, he could stay the same esp. if we continue to employ a 1-gap NT approach; sort of kill two birds with one stone with this pick.

And well done...go with the odds/probability. This is probably the most comprehensive information we've ever gotten on players tied to us...so we might as well use it. And with epic boards to go off of in MD, OTC, AB, etc. it really gives you a comprehensive perspective of not only the positions Baalke seems to be looking at but where those players may fall.

So to you!

Also Believe Baalke drafts an OLB within the first few rounds and Maudlin would be my choice in the 3rd as well. I like Perryman over Dawson, but would be fine with either. Also a fan of Mayle in the 5th and Slater in the 7th.
One of the best mocks so far, be great if it falls something like this.

One of, if not my favorite mock yet. Very realistic. We really do need a TE with some upside. We have a lot of bodies @ DB already so I would take Blake Bell in the 6th if he's there. Great job!

Thanks. I tried really hard to work a TE in. I had Funchess for awhile but moved away from him. Good upside but something about him made me believe that he would frustrate us with dropped passes and his blocking. Pretty much how VD used to scare us with his alligator arms.

Appreciate it! I had to keep going back to your mock to make sure I wasn't picking all the same guys. Some players just make a lot of sense for us though like the bigger CB's or WR's.

Smart money is on Goldman being the pick. I actually like Goldman and Davis better than Shelton. Now we just need to find a team that is wanting to move up so we can acquire more picks.
Love a lot of the players you targeted, but damn you have that many picks and you wait until the 5th to draft a WR

If you're using the same approach as NCommand (based off visits who we are linked too ) which makes a ton of sense, you'll see WR at the top of pack, Baalke isn't waiting that long to get a play maker, we have plenty of projects at that position already. I'd rather not draft one if you're gonna wait that long.

Get Smith out of there in the 2nd and replace it with a WR, then I would love this mock.

At times I had Parker as the first pick and tried some different things. At the end of the day, even after Baalke drafts we are going to still scratch our heads and wonder why he did or didn't take some guys.

In the end, for years we have been screaming for a deep threat opposite Crabtree or Boldin, or to fill the void of the busted Jenkins pick. Baalke never really drafted that guy. So now that he has signed Boldin and Torrey through FA I just feel like he won't draft a WR early. We desperately needed the wr in those years and he didn't draft it. Now I feel like it's even less of a need...

We have looked at a lot of WR's for sure. I think wr and CB's are hard to evaluate and you need a lot of them so you have to bring in a bunch. And a lot of the wr's we brought in will be gone by the time we get to our 2nd round pick and I didn't like the drop off after that. Just my opinion.

On the surface we are pretty solid on the Oline yet Baalke still brought in some high prospects. Collins, Smith, Marpet, etc... There must be some genuine interest there. I just believe in the trenches. Always want to make sure the Oline and Dline are solid.

Totally agree with just about everything you wrote, especially he part about leaving the draft scratching our head lol.

I like to point out like you said baalke brought in some high prospects at OL there must be interested ...the same could be said at WR

He plans for the following year and we will have next to nothing at WR...I'd rather have a high valued pick on WR and have him cheap for the next 4 years instead of going to FA every year...SF has shown that they can't develop the postion..I mean our two starters weren't even drafted by SF....I don't see us waiting until the 4th or later just my two cents

I'm all for adding a wr early. White and Cooper were my original draft crushes. Parker has grown on me and so has Strong. I also had Funchess in there for awhile. I was just trying to think through Baalke and how he has worked in the past. But yeah, we need a wr if we don't extend Boldin, etc...
I like the picks and rationale. I'd dump Mayle for Smelter in a heartbeat, though. Niners don't always meed with all of the high character guys they draft, as they might not have any questions they need answered. We probably don't know everyone they met with, either.

Smelter was my original 5th round pick. The typical Baalke ACL guy. I like him. Was trying to find some clue to see if the Niners were at the Georgia Tech pro day, etc... to justify the pick.

I did the same thing with PJ Williams. Try to find anything to see if we were interested.
I'm even more excited after reading that

This is very true! Although IIRC it was either OTC or AB who confirmed we gladly draft between 80-85% of the players we meet with.
Nice mock
