I meant to say that our OL position is fine with Thomas and Martin's selection last year.

I like the picks a lot but not sure Anthony will be there with our third round pick

Byron jones in the 1st is a reach of all reaches and I'm not sure he's going to be more than just a workout warrior....I just wish that users on the forum stop wanting to draft someone because of size and 40 times and actually look at player who can play

I believe he's trading down to bottom of RD 1 to take Jones to get that extra 2nd to take Anthony. I have seen a few media mocks with Jones going to the Pats with last pick in Rd 1, not sure if Byron Jones is still on the board at the #46 pick in 2nd Rd.

With all due respect I think your way off on your opinion of Jones. He started about 20 games at safey and 20 games at corner so he has the versatility that Baalke likes. He's got great size, can play press, not afraid to tackle, was a team captain and a leader, no off the field issues to worry about, extremely hard working. I currently have the patriots taking him with the 32nd pick. Here's a few paragraphs from the Eagles website talking about the Eagles interest in him.
"Is Byron Jones just a workout warrior?
No, but that's a common misnomer following a Combine performance for the ages back in February.
The 6-1, 199-pound Jones set a world record in the broad jump with a leap of 12-3, which was eight inches farther than the previous Combine record. He was also one of the Combine's top performers in the vertical jump, three-cone drill, 20-yard and 60-yard shuttles.
Jones wasn't on the mainstream radar before his exposive outing in Indianapolis because he missed the second half of the 2014 season after undergoing shoulder surgery. A former safety, Jones converted to cornerback prior to his junior season in 2013 and started the final 19 games of his college career there.
A team captain in 2014, Jones had 223 career tackles, eight interceptions and 18 passes defensed in 43 games (37 starts).
Furthermore, Jones cemented his position as one of the premier cornerbacks in this year's draft class with a 4.4-second 40-yard dash at his pro day workout. Jones did not run the 40 at the Combine due to his shoulder injury, which also kept him from playing in the Senior Bowl.
Jones checks the boxes when it comes to size, athleticism, positional versatility and character. The shoulder injury and level of competition are the only slights, but Jones has all of the tools to prove that he's more than an athletic marvel in the NFL."

I hope he's there at our 2nd round pick so we can take him. I think he's a lot like Culliver but a little more athletic and better at tracking the ball with a higher ceiling. Right up Baalkes ally size and leadership wise.

Yes, that's what I'm hoping Trent will do is to trade down in the end of first and get an additional 2nd to take Jones or the highest rated CB. We then take H.Anderson and Anthony (or highest rated ILB if he's gone) with our two second rounders..

Byron Jones isn't a 1st rd pick...not on anyone's board I've seen. NFL.com draft profiles says he's an instinctive DB with adequate speed...he has the ball skills, but loses his balance/footing too often, especially in man coverage. With more physicality they think he could be a FS. When a CB like Marcus Peters is available, with mad skills, I don't know why Baalke would draft Jones, especially that early. I get Peters has had some problems...but if Baalke/Tomsula are convinced he's learned his lessons, he'd be the CB to take early. My pick would be Eddie Goldman, a beastly DT from FSU. Mangini likes bigger inside DL & Goldman would be that and more. He played DT and DE for FSU and is a guy who has the strength and "want to" to tie up 2 OL on just about every snap.
There's no guarantee any team trading with us would give up their 1st and a 2nd rd pick...could happen, but it's far from a sure thing. That said:
Henry Anderson--do you really believe he could replace Justin Smith? Do you think he can tie up 2 OL on virtually every snap? I don't. I'd take Eddie Goldman in the 1st, because he's a monster DT with surprising quickness. I know Baalke likes Anthony, but there may be other ILB's he likes. I'll throw another name at you: TE Clive Walford. He's arguably the best playmaking TE in this draft & with Vernon entering the final year of his contract and very little receiving talent (aside from Carrier) behind him, getting a TE like Walford makes a ton of sense. That's particularly true because Baalke acquired speedy WR's Torrey Smith and Jerome Simpson...those guys (and to a lesser extent Ellington & Patton) will stretch the field, which will open up the middle for Boldin and our TE's.
Not a big fan of Funchess...he's a tweener, meaning he's not big/tough enough to play TE, but hasn't used his size to the advantage he should have at Mich. I'd say Baalke may well draft a pass rusher, OL, or RB here. He can still get a big WR later on...Vince Mayle or Darren Waller, for example. I see you have David Johnson in the 4th rd, he's a good RB.
The rest of your picks seem ok...

I've seen a lot of talk about Jones going in the 1st round. Even as early as the 20th pick to philly who supposedly loves him. Just google Byron Jones 1st round pick and you'll see talk about philly taking him and the patriots. I'm fairly certain he will go late in the 1st, if not early second. I'm not saying Baalke takes him at 15, but if he really likes him and happens to trade back to around 25(which I don't think will happen, but the OP suggested) then I think that is around the spot Jones will go. Most people said Ward was a 2nd round pick last year and Baalke took him in the 1st, why can't the same thing happen with Jones?

i think we should trade aldon smith for Cleveland's first two draft picks and get dante fowler; devante parker and marcus peters. 2nd rd we get denzel perryman and byron jones or vic beasley instead fowler

I like Goldman. But with Tank and Dial in front of him to spell JS and Dockett, he might not get a lot of snaps this year. For a 1st round pick, we need a starter here and someone who can contribute right away.Do you see Goldman as a every down or more of a rotational type player. We can address our dline later since our team is pretty good in developing that position.I think Baalke wants to address starting CB in the first. I could put Peters here in the first but then we don't have anything to talk about since we all agree he's a very good player

Baalke is not going to select a cb early...Our oline is not set with rookies coming off of injuries...I don't trust that and I'm baalke doesn't....imo La'el Collins should be our 1st pick....he can start immediately at one the guard spots with plans of being our future LT..next season we can let boone walk...if for some reason Parker is there at 15 then we can't pass that up and we'll have to look elsewhere for that G/LT maybe Humphries

So your gonna replace LG with other rookie? Thomas and Martin both have had a full year in the NFL to learn the game. Future left tackle? Staley isn't going anywhere and is signed until 2019. Man everyone just bounces to the newest thing without even looking at who's still on the team.
Collins has short arms and I doubt he plays LT at the next level he isn't anything more than a guard IMO. Thomas actually had a better combine/career then Collins. He is bigger, stronger, has longer arms, and is faster. I actually think Martin would be better at LG than Collins as well.
They also signed Pears as a vet backup as well. Trent has Thomas,Martin,Looney.Pears all fighting for ONE starting spot on the team.

I still hope we can find a trade down partner. If Anthony is gone in the second, then Paul Dawson. I'm sure Funchess will be off the board by the 3rd, then give me Conley here. Instead of DE, maybe an OL or FS to develop instead.

Instead of DE in the fifth an OL or FS here is what I mean.
